One of the best Segway tours that we have experienced! It was sheer luck that it was just the two of us and our guide (Alex), since we were traveling off-season. Being a history major, Alex was the perfect guide, and provided us not only with a great Segway tour, but his in-depth knowledge of the history of Athens was... More

It's still what the boys talk about. They'll train you to ride the Segways (scary at first but so fun by the end). Highlights of Athens historic sites. Do this early in your visit to Athens. Earlier in the day or later in the afternoon ...

We search for Segway tours wherever we travel. We found a gem with our tour guide Vara. She was so knowledgeable about the history of the city! We saw the small streets and neighborhoods that surround the Acropolis. Areas that we would never have seen on our own. By traveling on the Segway we covered miles in the two hour... More

Alex our tour guide was excellent in his knowledge along the tour and allowed us to stop along the way and even made a special stop at the Holocaust memorial. Segway's were in good condition and we enjoyed our 2 hour tour immensely!

As this was our first visit to Athens, we chose the segway tour as our initial introduction to Athens and it's treasures. Our guide was very informative and gave us a lot of leeway to take photographs. Would recommend this tour as a great way to plan what sites you want to re-visit after the tour's end.

We did the 4pm combo tour and it was a fantastic way to see the centre of Athens. We went to places a tourist would not normally see because the Segway is faster than walking and climbs hills easily. Our guide Vera was lovely, spoke excellent English, and was very knowledgeable about all the attractions. As it was early evening... More

It was 25degrees on an October morning and after a short 5 mins session getting used to the segway, we were off. It was a Sunday so very busy, which added to the fun and challenge of riding the segway. Our tour guide, Vera had excellent knowledge of the history of Athens and all the sites. You can pay half... Arrived in Athens at 9:00 AM and had a Segway tour at 2:00 PM. The Segway was a great way to quickly get an overview of the sites to see. The guide was very knowledgeable and spoke English very well. We ended up going back to most the places seen the following 2 days by foot. Thanks for the introduction.

Our guide was Vera who spoke excellent English and who was an expert on Greek history. In our 2-hour tour she took us the most important sights around the Acropolis, telling us lots of details about the landmarks we visited. It was very interesting and we were once again glad to have chosen a Segway tour, as it's a great... More

Staying in Monastiraki

Neighbourhood Profile
Monastiraki
Monastiraki is a souvenir-hunting enclave with a difference. Apart from the dramatic backdrop of the Acropolis, its network of alleys and pedestrianized streets surround the remains of both the Greek and Roman agoras, adding the quaint concept that this is where the ancients also came to shop. Named after the tiny monastery church at its center, Monastiraki Square is a lively spot by day or night, with street peddlers vying for your attention to sell you nuts and sweets. Down beside the metro station, the official Flea Market is an unbroken row of souvenir shops until you come to antique-oriented Platia Avissinias, while Pandrossou Street on the other side of the square offers more tourist shopping. The pedestrianized street beside the Greek Agora is lined with cafés offering fine views.
