Our private tours are exactly what you need so as to avoid the monotony of typical tour itineraries and the chaos of big tour groups. Our private tours take you to places and areas that big buses can't reach and offer you the flexibility to stop anywhere, anytime for whatever reason (photos, lunch brake, health needs etc). We are happy to offer you the rarest luxury of our times, individuality, in very competitive prices. You will just sit back and enjoy the personal attention given by your guide who will be willing to satisfy your requests with professionalism and courtesy.

We had a marvelous and affordble tour of Athens, Greece with our guide Nikos. As passengers on a cruise ship, we only had one day in Athens, so this was a perfect option for us. It was extremely quick and easy to schedule our tour. When we emailed to add 2 additional persons to our tour, we were immediately accommodated.... More

My boyfriend and I booked the full day tour back in September as we only had one day in Athens. After many emails with Nikos (my boyfriend is a planner), we sent our deposit and were on our way. We were met at the airport by a very friendly, smiling face, Elias. He quickly took our bags and escorted us... More

Booked with Nikos based on the excellent reviews, and were not disappointed. We booked a half day morning tour, due to start at 9am for our family of six Our ship was delayed so we did not get ashore until 10, where we found a smiling Nicholas waiting for us. Complimentary refreshments in the fridge, an extremely knowledgeable driver/tour guide... More

We booked this since we were on a cruise and wanted an efficient way to see Athens in one day. We were lucky to have had Alex as our guide....he was friendly, efficient and best of all, knowledgeable about Greek history, politics and culture. Rather than just simply being ferried from one place to another, Alex infused the day with... More

We came into Athens by cruise ship and had only one day in port, so we were SO thankful to have a tour through this company. Our guide Alex whisked us around the city to get in all the major sites in a confined amount of time, but we never felt too rushed. Alex was super talkative and told us... More

We had a terrific experience with this company. I did a lot of research on driver/guides in Athens who spoke English well and could give us a comprehensive tour for our one day cruise spot in that city. We contacted Nikos for information and he was a delight to work with. All of our inquiries were answered fully, promptly and... More

I travel to Greece with my wife and my 2 kids (9 and 7 YO) I booked 3 different tours with Private Greece Tours, the Argolis extended (Peloponnese-Corinth canal, Corinth old city, Mycenaean city fortress, Tomb of Agamemnon, and Naupflion), Athens (without museums, Acropolis, Stadium, Guard change, Temple of Zeus, and Cape Sunio) and the last was Delphi extended (Monastery... We booked our tour as a shore-excursion for our Mediterranean cruise in April. Due to the cruise line cancelling the cruise we had to cancel our excursion with Private Greece Tours as well. It was done without incident, which made us reschedule with them as soon as we were able to book a different cruise. Our of our 12 day... More

Private Greece Tours was wonderful. All the details were handled by email prior to our trip. Our tour guide Angelo was waiting for us at our port of call. He made our day so special! He expertly handled the traffic everywhere. He took us to all the popular destinations & quickly arrived when we were ready to head to the... More

On our 14 day cruise we used 6 private guides and the only one I would truly recommend was Nikos. He was so knowledgeable and knew so much history about Athens and Corinth and had so many recommendations for us that we got to see more than we could have dreamed of. He left us wanting to go back to... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighbourhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
