To get there, you must climb a small mountain 😉. But, once you get to the top and roam around amongst all the ruins, you find yourself in absolute awe!! This is a definite must see. And don't forget to look at the surrounding city from way up there... Some of the best views of Athens.

Quite easy climb even for "Oldies", 80 and 77, wonderful views and really worth the effort. Even the scaffolding and the explanation of work in progress was interesting.

As a first time visitor to Athens the Parthenon was an essential visit. While it is wonderful to stand in a site of such antiquity and with such a history I felt it lacked atmosphere. It wasn't particularly busy - being the week before Christmas so no queues - and great views over the city. There is a large and... More

Wear comfy shoes because there is a lot of walking involved! It was a beautiful sight and many places to take beautiful pictures and over see the city! A must stop in Athens!!

What can you say about the Parthenon that hasn't been said before? It's amazing, I only wish it wasn't covered in so much scaffolding but it has to be done. Incredible views back over Athens, urban sprawl like I've never seen before.

Fantastic to be there but renovation work has 30% of the building covered by scaffold and cranes. They seem to be doing everything at once leaving little chance of a clear photograph

This is a no brainer when you are in Athens and should be one of the top sites to see when you are in town. We traveled here on a Med cruise and took a private tour. The Parthenon is a place you see in history classes and blows you away when you finally see it from far away. Part... More

To walk in the steps of ancient times made the trip special and meaningful. Seeing it in person was so much more impressive than any book magazine or video can do for you.
