Our guide, Efie, was fun, entertaining, knowledgeable and very articulate. I'm not a big proponent of multi-day tours, but Chat Tours does an excellent job. If you want boutique hotels and restaurants, you'll need a boutique company. But if you want clean and comfortable transportation, modern hotels and pretty good road-trip meals, then this tour is a great value. To... More

Booked the Athens Sight Seeing morning Tour (18 Nov 2016 Half-Day). Tour guide rudely accused a guy with his family in our group of recording her voice. He was merely taking a panoramic pic of Athens with his camera. She then proceeded to be even more rude to other tour groups including several elementary school teachers with their students. People... More

We had originally planned to do a day trip to Meteora, but we booked too late and the train tickets had sold out, so we booked this trip instead. This trip includes hotel pick up and drop off (or just pick up and drop off to Syntagma Square). The trip to Delphi included a stop at a coffee shop, which... More

Bring your camera and set it on video mode, if you can, as you exit the city of Athens on your way to Corinth. We passed by several important buildings and now at home I can't remember their names, but Katya, our tour guide was fabulous. You basically get two tours in one, of Athens and Corinth. While travelling she... More

The tour bus guide was excellent. We went to Apollo's temple and she took us slowly up the site, stopping and explaining everything which meant it suited all ages and capabilities.Afterwards we visited the museum and she explained many things there. We learnt a lot of interesting Greek mythology on the way there. We had lunch on the tour at a restaurant with some... We booked a half-day tour of Athens City, Acropolis and Acropolis Museum through Viator and tour was run through Chat Tours. They were about 15 mins late for pick up from our hotel, which was by foot (they send someone to get you) and then we had to walk about 10 mins to catch the bus on the main road.... More

We took the 2-Day Trip to Delphi and Meteora from Athens, we are glad we book with this company, the guides are so knowledgable, to get there is quite far but worth it.

We took a day tour to Delphi. First of all, it takes over an hour to get out of Athens with the numerous pick ups and bus changes. There were 2 different tour groups on our bus which was confusing as the guide kept getting confused over what time this group went where. If you think airplane seats have no... More

Went on a delphi day trip on 17th of september 2016, the bus was late arriving to the terminal, staff and guides were very pushy and not very friendly. The guide we had was mediocre. Didnt really make it very fun and talked a lot about things unrelated to delphi. We decided to break away from the guide which i... More

This was a fantastic option to see these areas in just 3 days, our tour guide Melita was passionate, full of information both historical and mythical, and also soo much fun. The tourist class accomodation was so so but for three nights doable. The Food fairly traditional but definitely for tourist groups, again not great but for three nights doable.... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighbourhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
