When we visited Athens, the Acropolis was so full of people it was impossible to soak in the significance of these ancient buildings. At Kerameikos, on the other hand, you can wander through the ruins and start to get an idea of the wonder of...More

We walked to the cemetery from Thissio metro station along a wide flat road. This is the ancient cemetery for Athens and contains many grave monuments and a small well-kept museum. It is an interesting place to walk and is good value when included in...More

A short walk away from the other sites like the Agora. As I've said on my reviews on a few of the other sites around Athens, I bought the combo ticket for 7 sites, so wanted to make the most of it, although this, as...More

This was the 7th and final ticket (in the order we did them in) of the multi site ticket. By the time we got here, it was proper roasting hot- 34degrees at 130pm! Well worth seeing as it's got a lot of highly intricate tombstone/decorations...More

Many of the ceremonial buildings and gates no longer exist, so some imagination is required, but it is still well worth the visit. While there are some placards explaining what is there, you will get a lot more out of it walking the site with...More

Surprisingly I liked this place the most in Athens. I bought the unified ticket for 8 archeological sites around the city and it was worth every euro. My overall impression from Athens is: loud and hot. So I really appreciated the corners where the street...More
