Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Walking Tours of Athens (aka Paul at PK Travel), arranged for a private Mercedes/driver and Athanasia Kostopoulou to be our private guide for 8 hours in Athens . Athanasia is an archeology graduate from the University of Athens and shows why she is a great guide with the intimate knowledge of everything Greek. We visited the Acropolis, Temple of Zeus, Plaka, Archeology Museum, Olympic Stadium, etc. and the changing of the guard. First, let me say the driver and van service are a must if you only have one day in Athens. Relaxing or sleeping between venues and letting someone else handle the traffic is priceless.
OMG, Athanasia has more knowledge in her head than I thought existed about Athens. She is pleasant, kind, understanding and simply a joy to spend the day with. We like to ask a lot of questions and she was extremely happy to answer. In fact, the more she was asked the better she got. Each stop was a real life history lesson. We were given the chance to hear and experience Greek history because of Athanasia’s vast knowledge. In the Archeology museum she knew exactly where to go and what to show you in order to make the museum come to life. Her stories of history and seeing the art up close made the day go fast. After almost 9 hours with Athanasia, we could hardly believe the day was over. It went so fast, we were sad to see her leave.
She was very accommodating to our schedule changes. We like to alter the itinerary as we add or lose interest. Each change was seamless with her. We invited her to lunch with us and she was wonderful to be with. In addition to having a private tour guide, our time at lunch and speaking in the van gave us a cultural experience as well as a private tour. God Bless you Athanasia for a memorable day and experience. We are lucky to have spent the day with you.

Thank you for introducing us to Athens and its hidden foodies delights. Our tour took us to Meliartos coffee shop near Monistaraki Square for Greek pies. Then on to Kipros for the local form of donuts drowned in honey. Then through the meat and vege markets before a real Greek coffee brewed in hot sand.On to a deli where we tried cured meats and some red wine before heading to the boutique hotel, "The Artist" where we had ouzo, olive oil and infused vinegar tastings. We were introduced to the Greek wine growing regions. Our final stop was to have an authentic souvalaki. A great overview and exploration of the Plaka and Psiri areas.
I am sorry to have forgotten our wonderful guides' name but you can see her back profile in the photo at the Artist Hotel.

My friends, our children(5 &10) and I had the most amazing tour with Georgia for 4 hours. Georgia was professional and knowledgeable, she guided us through the Acropolis, Parthenon, Monastiraki, the changing of the guard and many more delightful sights through Athens. Her detailed history on the city was impressive and above our expectations. Furthermore, her patience to answer all our questions was appreciated, and she even gave us restaurant recommendations for lunch and dinner, which was such a delight we went back each day we were there. Thank you!
Kind Regards,

I took a day trip of Athens in the first week of Easter with PK Travel. They provided an excellent van and an excellent service. Our driver was Dimitris, very knowledgeable and very good to talk to and he took very good care of us. Our guide in the Acropolis was Michael who is also highly recommended. Glad I took the private tour with PK Travel and recommend them highly

Where to start…?
We first had contact with PK Travel during a Mediterranean cruise in 2013 when we had a driver and car for a day trip from our ship. We were met by Dimitris and he turned an interesting day into a day to remember with his help, knowledge and the ability to take us to just the right places for the right times.
We loved it so much that, in planning a return trip to Europe in December 2014-January 2015, we specifically wrote to them and asked about a one week driving tour through the Greek mainland. They worked with us to put together a tour that matched our interests and the result exceeded our expectations! We had a personal driver and took their advice to use guides for some of the key locations such as Delphi, Meteora and Philippi.
We cannot speak too highly of our experience. I am not the sort of person who is given to hyperbole but it was a week we will always remember. A definite 11…
We were met at the airport by the same person who would drive us during the week and then picked up at our hotel the next day for the week’s travel. Travelling with Dimitri, we did a total of 1,600 km and visited Corinth, Delphi, Meteora, Berea, Thessaloniki, Philippi, Kavala and Athens. The travel was relaxing and informative and the driver was safe, professional and interesting - it was like leaving a friend when we finished. Potoula, who managed all our correspondence and planning, was incredibly well-organised and responsive. Paul, the manager, was always in contact when needed to make sure everything was progressing well and to make any small adjustments necessary. On one day, when we decided to ask for a guide for the next day, he organised it late in the day and we were so happy with the result.
The weather in January was cold, but not at all a problem. The days were sunny, the roads were good and the food and accommodation were excellent value. We are from Australia and we loved the weather.
This was a trip we will never forget and we have determined to return and do an expanded journey, possible driving ourselves. I was very impressed with the quality of the roads, both the highways between major cities and the secondary roads.
We would highly recommend PK Tours as our experience with them was entirely positive.

We spent the day with Michael and Paul. They love their city and the history it offers and it is apparent through all they say and do. We visited many different sites and had the opportunity to learn, question and wander. The day went by far too quickly and before we knew it, it was to say goodbye. The warmth, humour and friendliness of our new friends made the tour exceptional. Anyone can tour a group and impart information but it takes someone special to make you feel like you are friends. We highly recommend this company and feel that they go out of their way to make each person's experience their own.

Despina is most informative and engaging guide. She has a lot of energy and is very clear. My two teenagers were also enthralled and loved the tour. Highly, highly recommend!

Our guide Grigoris was fantastic! We were a group of 16 people ranging from teens to 50s and he made it enjoyable for us all! It was a full day tour that started at the Acropolis and made it way throught the city, we went in front of the Parliament building and saw the changing of the guard. We ate a delicious lunch at a traditional Greek style restaurant. This was the way to see Athens! Our guide was so knowledgeable!!! We found him through Athensbytaxi!

Fantastic tour - we had Stavroula as our guide and she was an endless source of information! She was a great story teller, adapted the tour to our interests, and answered all of our questions. I think this is the best way to see the sites in Athens - highly highly recommend!

We are in our senior years 68 to 77 and would like to spend some time in Greece.
We are undecided whether to drive from Belgrade and have a few stop overs nights or to fly to Athens.
We would like to spend some time in Santorini, Mykonos besides Athens. We would prefer accommodation within walking distance of towns. We will then be on our way to Dubrovnik.
How much time would you recommend we have in Greece? 7 to 10 days? we want a holiday not to be tourists on the go everyday. Look forward to your response. Kind regards Vera Kendle - Perth Western Australia.
