Lots of eateries and cafes. The walk along the streets towards Monastiraki is very nice as well. A must do in Athens.

From the moment you venture to the Plaka traders are by your side trying to persuade you to come in their shop, restaurant or bakery. The aromatic smells, food, music, laughter is intoxicating. Some very interesting souveniors.

While some of the shop in the Plaka are a little touristy the area is beautiful and interesting and well worth walking through.... several times! We had a lovely meal in a nice restaurant called Platanos - a tasty treat!

Plaka is my favourite place in Athens for a walk, coffee, lunch or dinner! It has a beautiful light, architecture, atmosphere and of course an important history!

Everyone says it is very touristy, not the real Athens. I really enjoyed looking at everything for sale. The sales people are very helpful, will wrap things to protect them.

squares, some notable museums and the beautiful
Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to
stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a
pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious
traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a

Not sure how close but we walked and climbed the steps to this place from the Plaka area. It's called Geros Tou Moria good food and live music that's a mixture of old and new. Locals go there too!!
