First quality products (from hand made sauces to pasta and from excellent rare cheese to Greek prosciutto!.... and many more) . All this combined with Thodoris' smile (the owner who's always ready to suggest the best for you). Worth going on Saturdays when Thodoris prepares various meze for his customers . Excellent customer experience! Keep on the good work Thodori

An excellent catalog of traditional Greek gourmet products at very reasonable prices. Carefully selected from mainland Greece and the islands, what a pleasant surprise that they're all available in the same spot. Top quality cheese, cured meat products, pasta, all sorts of pie, olives, honey, dairy products, marmalade, candy, sauces, herbs, wine, spirits (such as tsipouro and Cretan tsikoudia), special... When me and my boyfriend moved to Pagrati last year we found this amazing shop and we fell in love with it immediately. Since then we have almost every week been to the shop buying something (some of my favorite products are: the fig marmalade, the olives, the feta cheese, the sausages and the wine, and much more) :) Not... I went to this shop as part of a culinary walking tour to taste different kinds of olive paste, honeys, cheeses and other items. The thyme honey is just amazing. I bought 10 jars and brought them home as gifts. Great selection of products from Crete.

It is quite ironical that this store is just around the corner from a huge supermarket owned by a multi-national and selling generic stuff at higher prices than in western Europe... Kerannymi offers a select choice of delicacies from all around the country - olives, delicious wine to measure at around 4€/l, excellent smoked cheese or ham, organic eggs for... More

This is one of the finest food stores in Athens, with a nice variety of local products. You will not find everything from everywhere (definitely not a super market!), but the owner has selected some of the very best offering of the Greek soil. Plus, he's a very friendly person who will guide you with a smile. Prices are good... More

Staying in Pangrati

Neighbourhood Profile
Pangrati
The elongated Panathenaic Stadium, built for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, acts as grand gateway to the otherwise purely Athenian neighborhood of Pangrati. This area of typical small squares, busy main roads and residential streets will give you a clear sense of what living in this metropolis is like. A walk up quiet Markou Mousourou Street on the west side of the stadium will bring you past the First National Cemetery to Mets, home to many expats. Turn right to reach the charming Platia Varnava. East of the stadium, commercial Eratosthenous Street leads to rather nondescript Platia Plastira, from where Effranoros Street continues uphill to Platia Profiti Ilia, crowned by a huge church. Among the standard four- to six-story apartment blocks that typify Athens, Pangrati also boasts some genuinely authentic tavernas and the odd trendy bar.
