    Charming neighborhood in Anafiotika
Anafiotika is a small neighborhood at the base of the Acropolis in the Plaka. It has narrow walkways going up and down the hills with several restaurants and residences. My wife and I had dinner on the roof of one of the restaurants and enjoyed the full moon rising with the Acropolis lit up behind us. It was enthralling.

If you have time why not have a visit
If you have time to explore athens neighbourhood, should consider this area. I had a hardtime locating the neighbourhood and went circling a few times before locating and accessing the area through the park. Lovely neighbourhood in random order. Walking through the small alleyway and discovering pretty corner of someone else home. There’s a paper announcment randomly plasterred to remind visitor to keep quit when exploring the neighbourhood as people are living in them. Overall enjoyes taking photos of the lovely place.

Is a little Gem at Athens, a place not to be missed. You can also find the way up to Acropolis from this little town.
Do walk around the neighbourhood and enjoy every bit of it. Is tranquil and peaceful. Is a residential are so do be discreet when you are taking pictures and don't be too noisy. Lots of nice pictures can be taken here. Is ok to get lost in the neighbourhood, you find way out easily. Just enjoy the stroll, Oct is certainly a good month to visit Greece!

    Must visit !
This is truly a hidden gem of Athens! We accidentally got to Anafiotica while wandering around after visiting historical sites. This is such a cute street. I would even say it was one of the highlights of our visit to Athens (after Acropolis and other sites of course:)

Interesting and Attractive Neighborhood to Walk Through
A beautiful neighborhood in the Plaka reminiscent of homes in the Greek Islands. Near the entrance to the Parthenon. A short walk up and down the hill upon which it is located. Not a tourist attraction per se but an interesting neighborhood to walk through.

Island village in the heart of Athens
This neighbourhood strongly resembles a Greek island. It's very peaceful, there were hardly any other visitors when I went. Feels like a quiet oasis in the middle of a chaotic city. There's many tiny streets to explore and get lost in. Remember to be quiet and respect the locals

    Very cute, very small
It's a different world suddenly, to be standing within these narrow alleys in the middle of where people live. You feel like you have to whisper. And so you should, out of respect for the dwellers. It's not easy to find because it's only about 50 houses, and tiny ones as well. Try going up Mnisikieous Street (no guarantee for spelling).

I'm gonna be honest - I felt really awkward walking around there. I get that it's beautiful and a time capsule and a bit of Greek island vibes in the middle of Athens but... People live there. These are small, ground floor houses. And tourists are having full blown photoshoots standing in someone's front door. The neighbourhood is super quiet and some of the people living there were sitting outside on their porches. There are signs posted up about respecting the residents and so on but to me it still felt really awkward and I left pretty quickly. It just seems so bizarre to be taking pictures in front of someones window while they're inside eating dinner etc. Maybe it's just not my cup of tea - to me it felt like a "people zoo"

A lovely area to wander around little alleys and up and down flights of stairs. Good views over the rooftops of plaka. Please remember this is where people live, not just an instagram opportunity. We went early in the morning when the bars and tavernas were just setting up, so reasonably quiet. Went close by in evening and just a mass of people and lots of noise from tavernas.

We wandered up here after dinner to avoid the heat of the day. It was rather disappointing - houses in a dilapidated state and graffiti and cats everywhere. Views of the city are generally obscured by buildings or trees. It wasn’t really worth the bill up from Plaka, with the exception of the Byzantine church, which is stunning.

Beautiful traditional Greek houses with a super quaint church .
Tight winding streets curl and meander up the hill towards the Acropolis. It’s not that big but is worth a stroll to soak up the atmosphere and really feel like you are in Greece even though you are in the middle of the capital city!

Sooo, the views are gorgeous but it was a shame we didn’t get our table that we had booked for over an hour. Got told we were getting drinks on the house as we wanted to leave and get food somewhere else. Drinks turned out to be on the bill and they refused to take them off. The food also wasn’t great and the service was very slow, our food took about an hour to come out. All in all was just very disappointed and has put a downer on our last night on what otherwise has been an amazing holiday.

We walked up there to go to Areopagus. It is a small alley stairway winding twisting neighborhood that you think you will get stuck in but then pop out the other side. Go for it. Especially if you have kids over 8 they will love to show how slow you are on the uphill. A little physical exercise required

This area is the oldest area in Athens. It is next to the Acropolis and very close to Plaka. It is a very picturesque area with very narrow streets with a lot of beautiful flowers and some cute (and not begging) cats. Every time you go around corner it is a totally different view. The street are very cute and amazing to walk through. Some spots are a bit old and not well kept, but there are certainly great spots in this amazing area. On top of the area you can see a great view of Athens. Keep in mind that there are people living here, so stay respectful to the locals.
How to get here; walk to Plaka and ask people for Anafiotika, you have to go up towards the Acropolis.
How much time needed; We loved to walk there for an hour, but it is not a very big area, so it won't take you hours.
It is an absolute must do when you are in Athens.
