It is a meat ,fish, green and other goods Market . Many Athenians make their weekly shops fanatically. If you don't have specific shop to buy meat or fish, be very careful of the quality especially if you gone to buy big fish .Inside the...More

It's a sheltered meat market, not that you would buy anything as a tourist but see what the local people buy for their meals. The streets around the market there are all kinds of shops you can get anything for your daily needs. There are...More

If you have the slightest bit of adventure within you, then you’ll find taking yourself to the Central Market and the Acropolis from a cruise ship to be an easy way to get some local dirt on your shoes. These are directions from the port...More

Market is very big and very bustling! very impressive range of food. Worth the visit, easy to find. Outside the market are Fruit and Veg stalls with everything beautifully displayed, also lots of other very interesting little shops.

Within walking distance of the Plaka, the Central Market is an enjoyable place to spend 30-60 minutes. There is an amazing array of butcher shops, fish mongers and fresh produce vendors. One of the finest markets I have seen.

the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its
underground stalls, the square is now mostly
frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The
most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set
off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually
coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a
