I was looking for the Kynosargos quarter. Well, or the area with the same name. This is the place that gave the name to kyniks - Antisthenes, Diogenes and the rest. So, the square is behind the church in the back of the block, you just have to climb the stairs. The church has impressive dimensions. Perhaps, even too impressive. But it's quite harmonious and beautiful. But surprised only a servant of this church. He's completely insane. Having heard a simple question, whether it is possible to make photo of  interiors or not, began to shout, wave hands and to pour insults.

I stayed in Athens near this church during celebrations in honour of its patron saint, saint Panteleimon. Church itself is giant and very imptessive with painted dome, frescos and many icons. On the eve of saint Panteleimon feastday and on that day many worshipers came to light a candle and pray. Icons were decorated with national colours and square in front of the church with flags. Byzantine Orthodox chants made services even more impressive. Procession (litia) with icon of saint took place on July 27th in the evening on the streets of neighborhood. Church to be visited, especially during important holidays.
