This is a site that is a must see when visiting Greece. The views are spectacular and the history is unlike any other place. You will learn what the "naval" of the world is and how important the oracle was to diplomacy for the entire world. A visit to the Delphi museum is also a must since it contains many... More

This place should be on your travel list. When you come there you will understand why the ancients chose exactly this place. Centuries back this was the place to come to know the destiny and future. It was a place for worship. And then a place for preserving the trasures of wars. When you are at Delphi site, you feel... More

Travelled here to get out of the city and must admit it was the perfect day trip (only 1hr & half from Athens). Walking around, seeing the ancient ruins and learning about it's history really does take you back in time. The Temple of Athena Pronaia is situated seperately to the rest of the ruins but not too far away.... More

wander around in the early morning or at sunset; even better: visit the sanctuary of Athene Pronaia at sunset. the ruined of Delphi are majestic; what a view. Inspiring place. during summer, its will be very hot here and you will need lots of water. in winter, it is wonderful. in summer it will be very crowded (I assume its... More

We really enjoyed walking through the ruins all the way up to the top where there is an ancient stadium. Would recommend going with a guide (reasonable price from Athens) to make sure you learn about all the little aspects of the site. Would also recommend looking at the painting in the museum of what Delphi may have looked like... More

A well-equipped Athenian army blundered into disaster, was annihilated, and left its country almost defenseless against Spartan attacks. The booty was immense; the Syracusans were able to build a splendid treasury in Delphi to store one tenth of the proceeds of this war. Treasuries were built by many of the Greek city states to commemorate victories and to thank the... More

history speaks for the place. For a mortal like me is it possible to add or degrade such a historic monument?

An unforgettable place. Fantastic ruins will take you back in past. You can easily imagine that you are at the time of the Delphic Oracle. And Zeus was not far away. Huge magnificent stadium. The impressive ruins of the Temple of Apollo.

This is the place where the divinations were made in ancient Greece and also at some moments in the Roman Empire, which should be reason enough to make this a must-visit location. This is where the remains of the Temple of Apollo and some of the older Oracle traditions are found - of course, earthquakes and bad human beings did... More
