About
Pelagos Dive Centre is operating since 1987! Located in Agios Nikolaos-Crete, next to Minos Beach art hotel. It is ideal for all levels of divers, families and watersports funs. Situated on the water's edge with multilingual instructors (with over 30 years of experience), ensure safe and comfortable learning for beginners. Most dive sites are within 20 mins ride on our (10m purpose built jet driven) dive boat with easy boarding access. Relaxed, easy multilevel diving in warm, current free, crystal clear waters with 30m+ visibility most of the year. Dive sites include apart from a rich variety of Mediterranean marine life, reefs, drop offs, caverns, WW2 and ancient artifacts. Snorkelers and non divers are also welcome. We hold EN certifications by BUREAU VERITAS. A selection of other WATER ACTIVITIES and Boat rentals are also on offer here!

My wife and I went Crete in October. We are both experienced divers and we had a conversation about possibly having a dive. We didn’t have our own kit with us and this was also a bit of a blocker as we are always very cautious, when it comes to rental equipment. We were staying at the Wyndham Grand in Mirabelllo Bay. The hotel does its own dive operator, but they were not open. However, just down the road was Pelagos dive centre. We wandered in and were immediately impressed. There was very warm welcome and it was obvious to the eye the centre was well run, the kit new and superbly organised.
So, after going through the required document checks and equipment selection we signed up for a dive the following day. The dive far exceeded our expectations and again the team were well prepared and organised and were about having fun safely.
We really were not expecting to make diving part of our holiday, but we enjoyed ourselves so much that had seven dives and also made use of the speedboat hire. Again something we had never even considered and was suggested by Petros one of the team. We had a great day snorkelling at various buoys, exploring the dramatic coastline, then lunch at the Canal Restaurant.
Dives are followed by tea or coffee back at the dive centre, accompanied by some wonderful homemade and local cake selections.
I think I can say, with some certainty, this was one of the best dive centres I have had the pleasure of spending my hard earned cash at!
If you are thinking of starting your diving adventures, I can’t think of a better place. If you are an experienced diver visiting Crete, Pelagos is well worth a visit, with the added bonus of not having to bring your own kit., it really is that good.
A big shout out for all the team, Stefano, could not have looked after us any better. Catherine runs a brilliantly organised base. Dive guides and instructors Petros, Kevin and Nikos are very professional, but also great fun.
Well done Pelagos you are a credit to diving, if only all dive centres could be this good!

I have been diving for some 25 years and I must say that Pelagos Dive Centre is one of the best I have seen sofar!!
Being a PADI IDC Staff Instructor myself and in the meantime having visited more than 100 dive shops/schools all over the world, I think that illustrates how good they really are. The owners Stefanos and Catherine run a very "tight ship" and do it in a very pleasant way. (By the way, the expression "tight ship" does not apply to their gorgeous dive boat which is very spacious!)
Everything is well organised, from how attentive their staff is when you arrive, to their outstanding, new and well maintained rental equipment and the way the staff does their work in order to make the customers happy. It all seems to come natural with all the people that work at the dive centre and from experience I know this means a lot of hard work has been put into it.
Furthermore, their team is genuinely interested to make sure that their customers, irresective of their level of diving experience or age, are having a wonderfull time. The only thing you have to do yourself is getting into the water and dive as all the rest around it is taken care of by the team of the dive centre.
Full service, safe and fun diving with great professional people that I can highly recommend when you ever want to do some diving near Agios Nikoloas in Crete!

We visited here to book a scuba diving experience for our son to do with my husband while my daughter and I used the paddle boards. Kevin and Catherine were fantastic to deal with. The scuba diving was reasonably priced, felt very safe and was amazing. They got a good 50 mins in the full dive and as well as all the fish got to see an Octopus, feeding and squirting ink! The bay is great for paddle boarding and Catherine was quite happy for us to have them for the duration of the boys scuba dive, without charging extra for additional time.
We then went back the following day and hired a boat. What really stood out was their generosity in allowing for our inexperience. We were unsure if our sons travel sickness would allow the trip so Catherine offered to only charge for the time we were out. We booked for 2 hours, with flexibility to extend to 3 if we wanted or shorten if needed. They provided snorkelling equipment free of charge and clear directions on where we can go. The sea was so warm!! Much warmer than our pool. In the end we were out for about 90 mins and when we came back, Catherine charged just for the time we had it, rather than the full 2 hours we had booked for.
No doubt, had we discovered them sooner and if we had more time, we would have visited time and time again to try out the other water sports they offered.

We visited Pelagos when we spotted the sign from the roadside, whilst visiting Agios Nikolaos from Elounda. We wanted to hire a small boat.
The owners were incredibly helpful and friendly. We chose a boat and after a very comprehensive safety briefing, went for an amazing 2 hour trip, stopping to snorkel in one of the spots given to us on the helpful map of the area.
This was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday and not something you can do in many countries we have visited.
Of all the water sports we visited in eastern Crete, this is definitely the one I’d recommend. Well organised, clear, helpful, no rushing you and even kind enough to make recommendations of places to visit and restaurants etc afterwards. Nothing was too much trouble.

I had recently acquired the open water certification in the western part of Crete, I really enjoyed diving and once I moved to the eastern part of Crete I did 4 dives with Stephanos and Petros from Pelagos dive centre. Both of them and katerina the office manager were extremely helpful, not only in giving me great diving advice but also helping me find accommodation in Agios Nikolau and other practical things. I definitely plan to come back and do many more dives with them. I highly recommend Pelagos dive centre to already certified and aspiring divers.

We went for holiday to Crete and on some point we wanted to try scuba diving.
After going through many reviews we decided to give it a try an "Pelagos Diving Center"
The center is placed on the beautiful shoreline of Agios Nikolaos and we liked it at first sight. We spoke to the owner at a nice and chilly table about our plans and we could book the "PADI Discover Scuba Diving" course on the next day.
The course on the next day was well planed and we were greeted warm and friendly.
Our diving instructor Nikos was absolutely professional and we never felt uncomfortable at any moment.
The first dive was an amazing experience and we booked a second trip for the next day.
As we returned next morning it felt like visiting a family.
We went on the boat and our 2nd dive was even better.
All prices are absolutely fair for their engagement and responsibility.
Thanks to the hole team it was an absolute pleasure and we hope to see you again for further dives with you.

Pelagos Dive Centre was an amazing experience. They are really well organised and go above and beyond what is expected by not only having your equipment ready and cleared away after the dive but also offering drinks, fruit, biscuits and even cake. We took the Open Water PADI course and feet in great hands! We feel very lucky to have had this experience and with Pelagos.

Can't recommend Pelagos Dive Centre enough for their Discover scuba diving experience. Everyone that we spoke to and dealt with was so friendly, helpful and fun, from booking via the phone to arrival and the course itself. Safety is definitely key to this dive centre but they also want you to feel comfortable at every stage and to love it as much as they do. Every step was clearly explained and there was absolutely zero pressure to push or rush. Ellie our instructor was amazing - there was just myself and partner on the dive with her and we both loved the experience. If we'd have had time we'd have both loved to be able to go and do the deeper dive that they offer after this experience dive.

I dived for a week with this family run dive centre. The team are incredibly friendly - the fact that it is family owned means a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where everyone clearly gets on and they really look after you as a customer: this is somewhere where people return. Mom is English and everyone is at least bilingual.
I have not dived in Crete before and it pleasantly surprised me how good it was. The sea is crystal clear to depth. This team have been diving the same sites for 30 years and the fish come to them as they know they'll get some food out of it - which is great for the divers! You'll also bits of WW2 planes, lots of bullets, ancient Greek amphorae etc.
Dives are about an hour underwater and no more than 10 minutes from the centre, so you are not abandoning your family for the day: dives are at 1000 and 1300 so you'll be back by 1430.
If you are hiring gear it is all really good quality - no torn wetsuits here: everything is well maintained. The boat is good and was lovingly handmade by the owner!
I dived alone but my wife and daughter snorkled and my daughter loved the instructor (and son) as he was so friendly and funny to her. We also used some of their watersports equipment and again, all good quality.
I look forward to coming back next year.

Pelagos Diving Center is the best diving and water sports business in Agios Nikolaos and maybe all of Crete for that matter! I was a brand new rookie open water scuba-diver having gotten my cert only a couple weeks before my first scuba-dive with Pelagos. Manos was my teacher / safety partner and he went above and beyond to help me feel safe, confident, and ready. Manos was never far from my site and kept checking in with me throughout the dive to make sure all went well...thanks Mano! Also Petros and Theodora were of great assistance too throughout not only my first but second dive as well....yes, I did 2 dives because the first with Mano went exceptionally well. Theodora checked me in / made me feel invited and comfy and Petros provided the comraderie, sarcasm, and laughs which I feel are exactly what rookie divers need! Also thank you to Katherine and Stefanos, the two partners / owners of the place as regardless of how busy it was both days I went, they always found time to ask how it went or of they could help in any way. Also more thanks to Stefanos for consistently communicating and making sure a small billing error got quickly taken care of. 100% / 5 Star Outstanding Review for all Pelagos!! Don't hesitate to check these guys out :)

I do not think so. We rented the boat and the pack included skipper and sailor. But you can ask just in case.
