At 20 minutes of AgyosNikolaos in a case of olive tree, this small chapel contains a real treasure of Byzantine frescoes of magnificent quality although protected. Not to be lacking for the derisory 2€ price list.

The church is an easy stop on the way to Kritsa and Lato and worth it. Although it is very small the frescos are very beautiful and well maintained. There is a little shop and café behind the church if you feel thirsty.

We took the 07:00 bus from Agios Nikolaos, passed the church on our way to Kritsá and walked back to get there for the 08:00 opening. Really special interior!

In remarkably good condition seeing as it is some 700 years old. The frescoes are very clear with quite different faces for the many characters represented. Given the turbulent history of Crete it is a wonder that hey were not defaced, yet alone destroyed.
