Familiar with wines through her father, Maria has an encyclopedic knowledge of the history of wine growing in Crete and is a superb hostess for wine tasting. At 'The Wine Centre of Crete' we were introduced to indigenous varieties and tasted some superb wines. Maria is fun and informative. Her unique way of tasting wines was a real education for us - we taste wines a lot but she offered a fresh approach. Would highly recommend a tasting at just Euro 25 each it was a delightful afternoon treat.

Maria has excellent knowledge of the grape varieties and wines of Crete, the history behind the vineyards and knows the best wines to buy. She made the the wine tasting really interesting. There were 4 wines. 2 white, 1 rosè and 1 red. (We actually found the Rosè wine for sale in the airport when we departed - yes we bought it as it was lovely) I must say that I know a bit about wine tasting but she taught me a few new things. (I won't tell you... go and see for yourselves) Thank you again Maria!

Living in southern California and making frequent trips to wine country for tastings, I was blown away by how informative our tasting with Maria was. We learned so much about color and smell and really dissecting the wine tasting experience without being pretentious. The simple tips for choosing a great wine for dinner were so helpful! We'd taste (and shop) here again in a heartbeat!
