Across from the Kydon Hotel where we stayed. Easy to pop into. Clean even at the end of the day. Mostly a representation of products from Crete, but not much leather. Olive oil, olives, many spices, some souvenirs, various wood items. More like small stores...More

We always enjoy finding the local places to eat while traveling. Whether it is the hole-in-the-wall or off the beaten path locations, this provides the most satisfaction and excitement for us (and the better stories to share). Visiting the market in Chania was another example...More

The Municipal Market is a great place to buy some local Cretan products and also to eat like a local. There are several small eating stalls. The food is Cretan, cheap and very tasty. Very good value.

While this does have market stalls as in other markets, most of the stalls are really tourist shops. They all sell the same stuff with only minor variations. It's worth a visit but don't expect to spend more than a few minutes here.

We stopped here as part of a tour and shopped for some local items-honey, soaps, etc. I bought a nice book on Greek mythology. It's a short walk to some of the other attractions, like the Venetian harbor. Worth a stop.

Not only is the Market vast but it also caters for locals and visitors alike. Great food (fresh fish and meat) and herbs and cheeses. A couple of small but very good cafes. And, of course, the usual tourist stuff in abundance!

It’s just a market. Nothing special. Of course, there are some local products, but most of them you can just buy in regular shops on the same prices or even lower. There are a few gastro places, but most of them were colesed when we...More
