Located in an old church that was converted into a mosque is the local archaeological museum, which also has a modern annex on the side. The part in the church is very old fashioned, with rather poor displays and very little to no information. Most objects are also only fragments. Exceptions are the jewellery collection and the 2 graves. The modern part on the other had is much better and also displays the better preserved items. There is a small garden with a Turkish fountain not working). No comparison to the national archaeological museum in Iraklion.…

A really easy museum to visit due to its size but very compact with a lot of objects. The visit took us about an hour but it's well worth the stop.

We visited the town and we wanted to some ancient things. So we decided to go to the museum. There were mugs, jewellery, coins. We did not find it that interesting, so we did not stay there for a long time.

After spending the prior week on the mainland going from museum to museum, was surprised how nice this one was. No hordes of visitors so you have time to spend at each exhibit. The display of ancient coins was particularly interesting.
