The citizens of Heraklion (and Crete) are exceptionally proud of Morosini's Fountain and rightfully so. It's an excellent example of Venetian stone carving and is centrally located in the old part of Heraklion. Surrounding the fountain is an area with small cafes (some more touristy...More

Very attractive fountain in Heraklion town center with four water mouthpieces streaming into semi round bays so that users could approach without getting splashed yet put their hands out and wash. Built by the Venetian who purchased the town for a thousand pieces of silver...More

This is the heart of this beautiful town with so many places to dine and roam around and plenty of people to watch and boutiques to visit. I loved this place.

If you're in Heraklion you'll probably stumble upon this fountain, surrounded by bars and bakeries, get yourself a phillo pastry with cheese and honey and enjoy the view (and probably the nice weather).

Located in the heart of Heraklion, you can't miss this fountain. There are tons of restaurants surrounding it that you can grab a seat at one of them and eat or drink something and people watch. It is a really pleasant area.

The Lion fountain is beautifully sited in the centre of the old town, at the end of 25th August street, only a few yards from the Loggia. The fountain is symmetrical and to a casual glance the four faces are identical.

This was a cute fountain in the city center. If you are strolling the streets shopping or searching for something good to eat, stop by for a photo op.

Found this little gem when revisiting Heraklion recently in the middle part of the city and acts as a natural meeting up place with shops, market and cafes nearby. Very impressive history and architecture. Would recommend a viewing.

Hello, the Morosini Fountain is a 20 min walk. I reckon. I am not sure where exactly the cruise ships moor. But once you get to the bottom of 25th August street, you are in a pleasant pedestrian area. You walk straight up... More
