I had the time to visit only the museum. It has a lot of interesting things to see there. It is not an expensive museum. It worths a stop. Maybe another time I visit the ancient ruins, I have heard they are very interesting also.

This was a family trip to Eleutherna, the ancient site. We visited the museum and adjacent excavations (necropolis and Hellenic bridge). It's definitely worth visit. The museum is rather small (just three rooms), but packed with information. I guess you can make it in one...More

On previous visits to Crete we visited the Acropolis at Eleutherna and the general area, but were left with limited information about the history and scope of the wonderful site. The new 'Museum of Ancient Eleutherna' brings a completely different approach to the long history...More

Really cool place to visit if you're visiting Crete. The museum is a lovely trip through an ancient Cretan village, but you must also go and see the Necropolis itself. The feeling you get from that is eery, but priceless.

We stopped in here after trying to go to the ancient site down the road but it was closed. Spent about half an hr in here looking at the artefacts. There were a couple of videos on loop and some of the displays were put...More

We drove the 40 minutes from Panorma on the strength of the reviews, but I think things must have been changing since them. The museum was pretty good, though less impressive if you've been to Heraklion. Not free though - 4Euro per adult. About 30...More

They recently opened a new museum at the site, and it's really well made. The museum is not particularly big, but I found most of the exhibits to be interesting and well displayed.

I didn't see any bus stop nearby I'm afraid- was actually v difficult to find by car too. Not sure they have thought all the logistics through. If no car I'd be tempted to look at local travel agents in Crete. Some day tours... More
