- Judy L5 contributionsFun Stop and Learned A lotLoved our tour of Paraschakis Olive Oil. Stopped on a whim and so glad we did. Loved meeting Joanna, and the tour she gave us. She was wonderful and went above and beyond just giving us a tour.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 October 2023
- Alejandro Garci... S11 contributionsOutstanding oil, great visit! She is amazing, oil is outstanding! 100% recommendable! We arrived there without calling before and she left everything which she was doing and she made a tour for us, she showed us the production methods since the beginning of the business. Everything was very very interesting! We had a great time and we bought a gigh quality oil!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 October 2023
- Oliver M1 contributionYou. Have. To. Go!!We stumbled upon this place while looking for an olive oil farm to visit, and it fit the brief perfectly. Joanna was absolutely wonderful, and made us feel like family. She gave a personal, informative tour of her family's factory, and gave some amazing insights into how her farm has run for generations. We were then given a chance to taste and purchase the oil, which is absolutely delicious, and made a perfect souvenir for our friends and family. You need to go here before they start charging what their products are really worth, and before they introduce a fee for the tour (which would be totally understandable, as the tour was brilliant!). Joanna, if you're reading this, we are so very grateful for your time, and hope your business continues to get the exposure it deserves!Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 June 2024
- Kieran JLondon, United Kingdom22 contributions5 ⭐️ experienceAn absolutely fantastic experience. Joanna, if you are reading this, you are amazing & I hope you have a good harvest this year & the business thrives. We were greeted by Joanna upon our arrival & she promptly started the tour, of which was quite international (Germans, Dutch & us Brits 😅). Joanna was so patient with everyone, answering any questions we might have, and it was fascinating learning about the processes of making olive oil, how it’s evolved over the years & how it’s still such a big part of the community. Joanna’s quick wit & sass did not go unnoticed & made the tour so fun & enjoyable. We sampled & brought some olive oil as well as it tastes amazing. Deffo a highlight of the holiday. Would highly recommend 😁 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 September 2024

We had a short but very enjoyable hour here, learning about the process of making olive oil and trying out some in a little taster. The tour showed us the old, traditional way of making olive oil, an early mechanised process and the new, modern, faster and more efficient process. This took about 30-40 minutes, finishing with a little taster of the delicious product and a chance to buy some (though with no hard sell, it was very informal and relaxed).
The guide was the daughter of the family that run the factory; her mother was an American-born Greek who grew up in Alabama. We had a great time chatting - she was very bubbly and enthusiastic with a great sense of humour.
Well worth a trip, especially if combined with the honey museum just down the road and the lovely old village of Melidoni.

Great island, very green and varied. We organized our own tour with a rental car and really enjoyed it and saw a lot of this wonderful island. We started in Chersonissos, went through Chania and into the hinterland, over the mountains to Elafonisi. And ended in Rethymnon. Rethymnon is wonderful, the Paraschakis family's oil factory is recommended...the olive factory was introduced to us in a very friendly and competent manner. We were only there for a week - we would go back anytime.

Stopped as we were driving by. Had a lovely time with a guided visit by Joanne the owner. Low key and unpretentious, felt very real. If you’re looking for a huge gift shop like others have mentioned, skip this. If you want a genuine inside look, highly recommend!!

Great farm. The owner was super nice and gave our group an interesting tour on historical and modern olive oil production. We had a small oil tasting. The product is of exceptional quality and very reasonably priced.
A must stop when traveling the area.

We were passing by for lunch and saw the factory wasn’t far so decided to stop by. We were greeted by Markella who showed us the history of their farm (in perfect English). We met her lovely mother Joanna who told us about the harvest! Lovely olive oil and olive oil products. The tour was brief but it’s the kind of place you want to stay and hangout with the host(s)!

Absolutely worth seeing - and the "best oil" in Crete, which you can use for absolutely EVERYTHING.
Plus approachable and really friendly, authentic owners.
Joanna is wonderful - especially if you speak US English - she is "half-US" and we chat to her regularly...
Simply great, and especially if you have never had any contact with olive oil production, absolutely worth seeing!!!

We had a wonderful time learning about the development of harvesting and producing olive oil. This is a wonderful family owned and operated farm. Joanna is very knowledgeable and a delight. Of note, she is fluent in English.
Take the time to visit and support their product.

Walking in the area, we stopped at this small olive oil factory and honestly no regrets. The oil is simply excellent. The welcome is very warm, the tasting free and the Award of products very correct. I recommend.

Do we get to see olive trees as well?
Written 28 November 2018
You can see olive trees all around the factory. These trees belong to our family so you can also take a stroll through the olive grove.
Have a great day!
Joanna

Wir waren auch 2016 dort und es war wunderschön, aber man kann doch nicht erwarten das überall wo wir Deutschen auftauchen auch deutsch gesprochen wird . Wenn man sich ein wenig anstrengt dann klappt eine Verständigung immer.
