Rethymnon Crete has a nice old town with narrow streets and a lot of fancy shops. Every Thursday there is a market from 10.00 to 14.00. There are a lot of nice details along the houses: Doors, windows, pottery, flowers. Take the camera with you!

Much smaller old town than Chania - very easy to get around. Picturesque, interesting - especially if you do one of the walking tours from any guidebook.

We loved exploring the narrow streets and browsing in the many shops. Lots of restaurants and bars. Some unusual shops selling high quality souvenirs and the usual tourist tat shops. We found some lovely hidden boutique hotels. Would be a lovely place for a short...More
