Vibrant Old Town

Picturesque, great streets, very busy and touristy. Try some of the more peripheral streets. Restaurants on the old harbour are expensive.

The strolls in the old town can be endless. The interesting architecture of all times (you see inscriptions on the buildings in turkish, latin and greek), a living historical museum!

The old part of the town is really nice, narrow streets, beautiful flowers everywhere, clean clean clean, old buildings and beautiful views. Its funny to see that the mass tourists are mostly in the main (shopping) streets but they miss-out big time!! Hungry? Search for a restaurant in the old town, they are mostly small but they have amazing food.... More

Located just alongside all the fabulous eateries of Crete, the port in Old Town represents the city itself. There's a light tower and sparkling water which surrounds it. People come here, stand by the beach and take photos, relax...nothing much to do, just a port which you can't miss when in Rethymnon.

Many shops and cafes in charming cobbled narrow streets. Rimondi Fountain is a must, and also the excellent Archaeological Museum.

Rethymnon Old Tow looks like painting. So many small and beautiful colorful details makes whole "canva", taste of this small town. Enjoyed couple hours in slow motion. Pomegranate juice must taste! :)

Relaxed and quirky. I stayed a few days in a seaside hotel. Loved the fresh seafood! The Old Town has a myriad of alleyways filled with shops- a favourite find being locally made traditional musical instruments with a bonus of the owner playing a piece on one. Also recommend experiencing day trips which do pick-ups in the old town and... More

I got charmed by the history touch and the view from the fortress. For connoisseurs the bronze guns from the fortress are from Vickers.

Rethymnon is a beautiful town and we really enjoyed it even on a very hot day. Its well preserved old part is beautiful, but you can also find enough spaces in a central parking, plenty of modern souvenir shops and also a small municipal garden perfect for providing some shade in the hot days. We had a long walk around... More

Always good to be able to visit the old town. Wine dine and shopping. It has it all. If you need accommodation contact pants and ira at the Barbara studios. Perfect location to enjoy the old town and lovely people.
