A must spot to visit when in Rethymnon

I got charmed by the history touch and the view from the fortress. For connoisseurs the bronze guns from the fortress are from Vickers.

Rethymnon is a beautiful town and we really enjoyed it even on a very hot day. Its well preserved old part is beautiful, but you can also find enough spaces in a central parking, plenty of modern souvenir shops and also a small municipal garden perfect for providing some shade in the hot days. We had a long walk around... More

Always good to be able to visit the old town. Wine dine and shopping. It has it all. If you need accommodation contact pants and ira at the Barbara studios. Perfect location to enjoy the old town and lovely people.

The place near Marina is very nice to walk, full with restaurants and people...the streets are narrow, but the city centre is not so big.

Most beautiful city I've ever seen - better than Chania in my opinion. I highly recommend a stay here while in Crete.

Lovely old town, stayed at an Air Bnb two bedroom apartment above a store, with view of the water, nice deck. Easy to explore around, lots of good restaurants, beware the folks trying to get you into their restaurants, just keep walking til you find what you like. Good food everywhere!

Not one of the best place to be in Crete! There are several places in Crete where you wanna be but this is not one of them. Our hotel was near and that's why we had to visit the old town, considering that other places on Crete are not always easy to reach.

The old part of the city is very beautiful and well reserved (and super clean). You can just walk around and "get lost" very easily. It is full of shops, caffee and tavernas, It is alive all throughout the day, from early morning until late at night both from locals and tourists. I so much more preffer the old part... More

Sorry to say that most shops & restaurants are closed in the winter here. The people that are still here are very friendly, and the food that we did find to eat was really good. I liked it here without the tourist, but without the tourist, nothing is open.

The Old Town of Rethymno was beautifully preserved, with shops, churches or restaurants behind each curving turn of the alleys. The waterfront is particularly lovely, with many bars, shops and clubs. For other people from Australia, it's worth noting that the businesses close mid afternoon for siesta, but stay open quite late!
