About
Born in Athens with strong bonds to the island, my grand parents from both sides are from Naxos. A decade ago, when my sister (Co-Founder at Xanemo-Sailing) decided to move to Naxos, it was natural for me to follow the lead. I've been teaching windsurf, while spending all my free time at sea (windsurfing, sailing, boating, swimming, you name it!). I look forward to having you onboard and share my secret spots, my favorite islands, and my happiness.

Fantastic experience with Dimitris. It was a party of 7. We went from Naxos around the island and to the small Cyclades. Dimitris took us to so many spots: Cliff jumping, crystal clear waters, breathtaking beaches, typical greek rural villages... We were with teenagers and everyone had so much fun! It was the highlight of the week!

We were a group of 5 friends who had an amazing day with Dimitros! The conditions were very kind and we headed across to Paros where we were greeted with crystal clear blue water, private beaches and coves, cliff jumping and a small village for lunch. Dimitros made sure to tailor the day to our needs and ensured that we were comfortable the entire time. Snacks and drinks were provided regularly throughout the day and we were recommended a beautiful seafood taverna restaurant for lunch on the waterfront. We would recommend Naxos Rent a Boat for your boat tour, so much better than the large group/generic boat tours that we passed across the day.

We were really looking forward to this boat tour which was arranged by my travel agent. This ended up being the one and only disappointing experience of our two week Greek vacation.

This boat is tiny. It’s not what you’d expect to see on a large body of water. It’s a very small boat you might see on a small river or lake. Once we hit the open waters of the Aegean Sea, we were tossed and turned while the captain drove exceedingly fast with absolutely no concern for us. My wife was visibly upset and holding on for dear life and he just kept speeding, crashing into each wave.

We eventually ended the tour early and the captain was rude when he dropped us off even though I still tipped him. This boat should not be on the sea and at some point, someone will end up being seriously injured or worse.

It’s worth doing a boat tour around Naxos. Just be sure to hire someone with a larger boat that is safe for you and your family.

Hello Jordan, I understand that you didn't have the greatest day but you need to be honest about your review. In the safety briefing in the morning the first thing I told you is that if you don't feel comfortable for any reason you should tell me immediately. Honesty, your wifes reply was, "I am a big boy,  I can handle it" in an ironic way. As many times I asked you if you feel ok you told me yes without giving me any feedback.  Our boat is 8 meter long, perfect for coast day cruises and one of the safest boats on the water since we have all the safety equipment that requires a ship on the water.. We even have epirb (satellite notifications, emergency equipment and an extra liferaft) . Our cruising speed was at 20-22 knots per hour, which is not that fast and never exceeded.  The Aegean sea may have some waves at some points but weather conditions of the day were pretty good. On our way back we do feel stronger winds on us but not because we go faster but because we go against the wind. That means that we feel the wind on us plus our speed. It is just physics but there's nothing dangerous about that. In order to disembark from Naxos marina we need to take an allowance from port authorities and if weather conditions do not allow it we just cancel the cruise.  I understand that your wife didn't want to swim because she was afraid of the sharks even if I guarantee that we don't have sharks in greece. I remember that you had a great time on board when she was at Panormos beach and you were alone in the boat relaxing, drinking your beer and listening to your favorite music.  I really don't know what you have in mind for booking a day cruise if you had such fears about the water. I am really sorry about your day but it wasn't actually my fault. I tried a lot of times to open a conversation with you and your family but never got some space for it.

Warn people in advance about the very fast, bumpy ride and possibility of getting soaked, head to toe.

Hello Deborah, I am really sorry for the bad day with me. I suppose that going for a day cruise with a motor boat in agent sea is for more adventurous people. I replied to your husband review with all the details of the day. Hope the best for you and your family. Regards Dimitris Axaopoulos

Our boat day with Dimitris was the highlight of our trip to Greece! The six of us are family ranging from ages 20-50 and everyone loved it.

The wind picked up mid-morning and the seas were a little rough, but Dimitris handled the waves expertly and made it a lot of fun. He was sweet, always checking in to make sure we were comfortable and if we wanted to keep going in the rougher seas. We are all accustomed to boats so we pushed forward and had a great time doing it!

We stopped at four different inlets to swim in the beautiful and refreshing waters. At the Rina caves we were able to swim into the caves, snorkel, and do some cliff diving. We also stopped by Alyko and were able to swim in and explore the abandoned hotel with art graffiti all over it. During each stop he offered us wine, beer, and snacks. Snacks were all local, from biscuits to cheeses to fruit.

Would do this over a sailboat excursion every time.

This trip was a really fantastic day spent on the water with our two teenage sons. We all very much enjoyed the caves, and our visit to some special beaches with fun time to jump off the boat. The snacks were delicious and he even introduced us to a local cookie that we all loved so much we went right to that bakery after we exited the boat :) We saw a sea turtle and Dmitris is a great captain who respects your family time but is also lots of fun..even playing frisbee with my family. This is a must do in Naxos!

Amazing experience! Dimitris is a phenomenal skipper and host for a trip out and around Naxos. He is fun and friendly and made us feel so comfortable and safe on the water.

First we went to the blue lagoon in Paros where the waters were the clearest I have ever seen. Then we went to a really cool spot Dimitris knew where we could get the clay from the cliffs to give ourselves a Facial. It felt great! We also visited one of Naxos‘s beautiful beaches as well. We had more than enough time to spend at each location swimming and snorkeling. Bonus was we saw a few sea turtles as we were traveling!

The snacks provided were fresh and local and the drinks were nice and cold. The boat is comfortable and very well taken care of. As someone who isn’t at home on water I felt safe the entire time and there are plenty of life jackets aboard if you need them for swimming.

This trip isn’t an absolute must do!

Excellent! We had the most wonderful day trip with Dimitrios, loved every second. We visited fun beaches, had a lovely lunch on Paros and he even sent us wonderful pics! He went above and beyond. We were a couple and we went on his boat with three others, which was perfect in terms of space. He got us some lovely nibbles and drinks and was a very friendly guy, who knew the area very well. Would highly recommend and would love to come back soon!!! Thank you.

Ps. local snacks were the best! Thank you ☺️
