About
Near Naoussa town, this vibrant strip is a popular retreat. Here, you’ll find amazing beach bars, umbrella rentals, and watersports like kitesurfing, canoeing and windsurfing. Since the beach is within a bay, the shallow shores and calm waters are great for families too. The best part about Santa Maria is the postcard-worthy views of Naxos island. If you’re visiting during the high season in summer, it can get crowded quickly—so arrive early to snag a good spot on the shore. Otherwise, for a more peaceful respite, walk to Mikri Santa Maria further down and enjoy more privacy. – Tripadvisor

- GT6360 contributionsNice soft sandy beach with good amenitiesVisited Santa Maria beach and found it to be a lovely soft sandy beach with beautiful clear water. It had no beach chairs/umbrellas where we sat which was close to the bar which we didn’t mind at all as the beach chair rental fees are a rip off on Paros. The bar offered soft lounge chairs to lounge on whilst having a drink. There were water sports facilities as well This is a much nicer beach to visit than Kolimbythres Beach which was dreadful.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 June 2024
- Daizy23 contributionsBeautiful Beach but Limited Amenities and Disappointing Bar ExperienceSanta Maria is undoubtedly one of the most stunning beaches in Paros, located near Naousa. It features soft sand and clear blue water, perfect for a refreshing swim. The beach also has a volleyball net and ball available for free use. However, when my partner and I visited in the third week of June, we found that there were no sunbeds or umbrellas as shown in online photos. Upon inquiring at the beach bar, we learned that these amenities aren't set up until the end of June, meaning we were visiting during the off-season. Without a place to lounge in the sun, we decided to sit at the Santa Maria Beach Bar, which is posh and modern, offering bean bags for seating. However, we were required to spend €25 per person on food and drinks to sit there. While this wasn't too difficult with a burger costing €17 and a drink €14, the chicken burger was disappointingly bland and the drinks were very watery. The service was also so incredibly slow that we finished our food before our sauces arrived and it took half an hour to get the bill.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 June 2024
- dolphinloverLarnaca, Cyprus70 contributionsVery nice beach, average beach bar!Lovely beach, mostly calm. The sunbeds are quite expensive, 60 euro the 1st row and 50 the ones behind, without offering anything! Snacks are limited, expensive and of low quality. The music is very nice and the vibe at the bar is vey lively!Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 1 August 2024
- Steve WUnited Kingdom11 contributionsA day at Santa Maria beachWe had a fabulous day here, a beautiful beach and shallow crystal clear water until you go in a fair way. The sunbeds are as mentioned €60 for front, €50 for the next 2 rows, €70 if you wanted a cabana. What a shock to see that hardly any of them were used all day. Ridiculous prices and bad management as the prices put people off. If they had charged €15 or even €20 the sunbeds would be full and they would have made 5 times more than they did today. We were prepared having read the reviews and were just happy our towels on the sand and bring our own food and drink. Beautiful if you want to pay extortionate prices or not.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 September 2024

The beach club is not opened!!! You should state that online! You are charging Eur 30 only for the beach beds without offering a service. The person charging the beds cannot even offer proper information regarding services, drinks and food. The bar menu was on every beach bed. If you are not opened for service then you should remove them. Very disappointing!!

Two sun beds costs 30€ and there is no WC or Bath to change the clothes.
Also you get no service, as example, there is no safe boxes to put the mobile or my cards.
The employee are not friendly and they work without masks or hygiene material . I bought just a water so i had to wait 40 minutes to get so expensive one.
No more in Santa maria.
Really my wife and me are so disappointed

The beach and the water are absolutely beautiful- picture perfect! However, the sun loungers are a rip off, they're crammed together, are rickety and take over the beach leaving little room for towels. The restaurant and bar seem to be run by the same people and it's trying to be an upmarket beach club but it's run down, shabby and unbelievably overpriced. Loads of members of staff hanging around yet rubbish all over the place and the weird campsite come 'resort behind the beach is littered with broken furniture. The showers and toilets are really revolting so it's an audacity for them to charge so much for loungers , food and drinks (€5 for a tiny coke served in a flimsy plastic cup for example). Such a shame as the natural beauty of the beach is breathtaking.

The staff at the restaurant were very nice but the menu was over priced much like the restaurants in nauosa. 39 euros for the cheapest bottle of wine and 8euros for a small beer.
Watched people come in and walk back out all afternoon.
The beach bar was fun but for young kids.
The whole beach is sewn up by one company so only here to make as much money as possible from the drinks and loungers.
Apparently there is a good proper Greek restaurant further up that we missed run by a father and sun.
The beach and sea was lovely and perfect for young children with long shallow sand under foot.
Great place if you take your own food and drink.

A beautiful beach spoilt by the encroachment of sun lounges and umbrellas that leaves only a small margin of beach for those that don’t want to spend a minimum of €40 for a pair of sun beds. There is a very over priced restaurant that offers expensive, very average food. The surroundings are untidy and the toilets and beach showers are squalid.

We arrived at the beach club and the beach was beautiful, however, the service was embarrassingly poor, I've honestly never experienced anything like this in my life. The server, who told us his name was Benny, needs to improve his social and waiting skills. He rudely snatched the drinks menu out of my friend's hand whilst she was reading it and took it to another group without saying a word. My friend was not finished drinking her cocktail when he decided to put out his cigarette into her glass and sarcastically said sorry, laughed and walked away. He was rude and entitled; it was like he went out of his way to be nasty and we seemed to be the only group he treated like this. Not sure whether he acted this way because we were younger compared to most people there. Either way, he ruined the whole vibe yet the dj and the drinks were actually amazing.
Overall, I would recommend the location, however, the service was that atrocious, I would avoid the whole thing altogether. He made us feel uncomfortable to the extent we left after 2 hours although we had planned to stay the whole day and order more drinks.
Next time, do better.

We visited Santa Maria beach six years ago and it was a beautiful , organised beach with sunbeds and excellent taverna. This time the taverna has closed. Sunbeds are on the beach for 30/40 euros which have no facilities and are dirty and tatty. Don’t visit this beach choose instead Monastiri beach club You can get a boat from Naoussa harbour and also reserve beds by e mail. The sunbeds are similar price but clean and well organised with waiter service , d j and restaurant serving excellent food.

Do not go to this beach club. For a 50 euro set the least you can expect is a friendly welcome and maybe a bottle of water. We got nothing. The loungers are filthy, the staff that greets you look like they don’t want to be there and you literally get nothing for the money you pay. Our server was the only person that deserves any praise. If you’re looking for a fabulous experience go to Cabana Beach ( 50 euros a set as well but includes beach towels, plush loungers and excellent service) or Marcello Beach (40 euros without towels but amazing vibe and loungers that feel like mattresses).
Hate giving a bad review but felt totally ripped off at Santa Maria.

We drove to Santa Maria Beach from Parikia because I had heard it was beautiful, and it truly is! We parked our buggy close by and walked to the beach. There is a free side where you can set up your own stuff, or there are beach chairs (50 euros a set). The 50 euros seemed a bit steep, but since we were going to be there for a while we went ahead and paid. We also ordered some snacks and drinks from the bar, and that too was pricey. Later we found out there's a little store on the beach with much better prices. The water is absolutely gorgeous and calm. You can walk in quite a way and enjoy it without any waves or it getting too deep. The only reason it doesn't get the five stars is because it is really expensive, but now that I know we can get snacks from the little store, I would definitely return and recommend.

Does the smaller, rockier area of Santa Maria have rock pools? A gentleman has posted photos of what looks to be rock pools on google maps but don’t know if exact location. TIA

Hello,
Could you tell me if the beach bar / taverner you refer to is the one right in the back of the beach, up a few steps, covered terrasse with tables and was (might still be) operated by the owners of the pension next door?
Thank you,
Catherine
