Good way to get up and down the cliff

We visited in the off-season and so the wait time between each ride could be a little long, however the ride itself was very quick. Great views down the cliff and of the bay. A... read more

A great invention and a great gift to the people of Santorini. Does not always meet the need of cruise passengers. Tenders are needed to also leave from the ferry terminal area....We would be glad to pay for a taxi trip down to the ferry terminal area. Just a thought!!!

This Cable Car way takes you up and down between the old port of Santorini in Fira and the summit of Caldera and Fira Town itself. Height of the Caldera rock is appr 220 meters and ride takes about 3 minutes. This Cable Car, or Teleferic, is an exellent solution for transportation of lots and lots of cruising ships passengers... It's the best way to the village. It was spacious and definitely the fastest way to the village at the top. We were there in the spring and no line...just from our small ship.

We were on a cruise and used this as transport on way back. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Very well run. Queue was quick. Also views and experience was fantastic. I think using the donkeys is cruel. A great alternative!

We visited in the off-season and so the wait time between each ride could be a little long, however the ride itself was very quick. Great views down the cliff and of the bay. A great alternative if you don't want to ride the donkeys. 5 Euros per person each way, so not all that cheap.

We were cruise ship passengers and for those wanting to go to Fira have options to either climb up, take the donkey ride up or to take this cable car. We took the cable car to get up to Fira and it was very convenient once we got our seats! It is a short ride but worth the 5 EUR... More

The Santorini Cable Car is a fun, quick ride to take to see a side of the island that is usually unavailable from the walking path. A bit overpriced at 5 Euros each way, it's an easy way to get up and down to the shore, but not worth doing more than once. Try it once and enjoy the ride!

This makes sense, the tickets are cheap and you pay the round trip going up. You can of course walk or sit on one of the donkeys. The walk may not be the best for you if you are in anyway out of shape. The donkeys may seem like a good idea but they can go up and down the... More

Though you can walk or take a donkey to the top of the hill, it is a steep climb and the best way is by cable car which cost 10 euro each way pp. They run every few minutes so your wait is minimal unless the entire ship wants to travel at the same time.
