Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife Mary & I spent almost a week with Anna hiking on Mikonos and Sifnos. Sifnos was our favorite of the two. We were not as physically prepared as we had hoped due to some unforeseen health issues...on this trip for some of the hikes, so we would hike as much as we could...and then actually took taxis to meet up with the group later on at a bar or restaurant.

Anna was fantastic at figuring out just how much we could do, then taking on the trails with the other "mountain goats" in her charge, while we rested and planned to meet up with them later.

Anna is a spectacular guide, and most gracious lady...we had a fabulous time, even tho we couldn't complete all of the hikes. Even after our segment of hiking was over, we hired Anna for a morning to take us to some of the sites we were unable to walk to.

She's the best!

keep dancing to those blues Anna!

We are a family of 5 (3 teens, age 13,16 and 17). Our teens typically don’t enjoy long hikes and this was a 5 hour experience (we made stops for a gorgeous swim, picnic lunch, a refreshment at a beach cafe, and a visit to a small ceramic studio). Anna made it so enjoyable, filling us all in on the local area, and keeping us entertained along the way. Our favorite day (and 26,000 steps) on Sifnos! Gorgeous views!

Our hike of Sifnos with Anna exceeded expectations. We enjoyed learning about the culture, geography, plants, architecture, history, and ancient contributions…plus so much more. She personalized the journey according to our curious questions, and we hope to plan another hike when we return. This made our visit of Sifnos more memorable as well as meaningful!

My partner and I have just done three fabulous hikes with Anna. Sifnos is a gem and we would never have seen such beautiful parts on our own. Expertly paced, the walks were manageable but challenging enough that we felt a sense of achievement to have completed them. Anna brought the island to life by generously sharing her love of the island, its history and its nature. Highly recommended.

Anna's article in The Guardian which caught our attention accurately describes this most beautiful island. We are so glad we accepted her invitation to experience it with all of our senses for ourselves. Anna organised everything expertly and professionally including where to stay etc. She accommodated individuals' needs seemingly effortlessly. Her walks covered contrasting areas of the island; her knowledge of flora, fauna, history etc., vast.

Time stands still on this glorious island - a hiker's paradise! A different landscape around each corner, vast ancient history, a deep and joyous respect of tradition, breath taking scenery and all in utter silence and peace - a haven of tranquility where lives are simply led and the welcome and content is inspirational and humbling. Anna became our friend from the very start.

We did two trails with Anna Grikou, the owner of Sifnos Hiking. These two days were the highlights of our six days in Sifnos!
The first day was the 'Apollonia-Artemonas-Kastro' trail. A real nice and relaxed walk through the beautiful villages and surroundings, with lots of interesting information from Anna, about the villages, its history and about the nature; the second was the 'South Sifnos'walk, which was quite more challenging than the first, as it went partly over steep goat paths. But with amazing beautiful views and a nice little picnic of local food which Anna brought along.
We will definitely come back to Sifnos. We loved the island and and we will definitely contact Anna again to do some more hikes with her. She is a wonderful, knowable and friendly guide!

Anna was a perfect guide, suggesting this route around Artemonas and up to Kastro (and back to Apollonia) as the one we should take if we were only going to do one hike on the island. She was very informative on history, the nature of the island (she pointed out all the wild herbs and flowers, and picked us some apricots from a tree!), food recommendations, and paced the beautiful walk really well, with a visit to a bakery for a sesame snack, and a good break for cold drinks in Kastro. If we come back we'd love to do another hike with her, and recommend doing at least one to get to know Sifnos better.

We had a wonderful walk with Anna during our honeymoon to Sifnos. We walked to Artemonas, then to Kastro and Kato Petali. Anna showed us various herbs and explained their uses on the Island as well as telling us stories and information along the way. She was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed learning about Sifnos from a local expert! Would recommend spending time on a hike with Anna- you won’t regret it!

How many articles do we see about expensive resorts where you can discover mindfulness and wellness retreats. It's the holy grail to recover from urban stress and the demands of city life. 5 days of hikes on Sifnos along ancient paths to the sound of church bells the twitter of bee-eaters and the tinkle of goat herds above the azure Aegean sea is the holy grail we discovered through our guide Anna. Every day's hike was different and demanding but the sense of satisfaction at having completed a challenging walk infused us with a pervasive sense of wellbeing and happiness as we reflected on the unforgettable images and places we'd walked over an evening glass of wine and a local caper salad. Anna at Sifnos Hiking knows every inch of the island, all the best restaurants and loves to share her knowledge with her guests. Can't recommend her and the Sifnos Hiking experience highly enough. Thank you Anna!

Luckily I found Anna Graikou from Sifnos Hiking! We did two stunning walks, each about 4 h. Anna knows the island like the back of her hand - she has been living on Sifnos for many years and one can tell that she is infatuated with this island. We also took paths which were not official Sifnos trails.
On the first day we went from Apollonia up North to Agios Sostis, a beautiful small monastery. On the second hike she picked me up in Faros and we went on the stunning trail to Kastro and then back to Faros - on another path. But there are many more paths to discover... another time for sure! Anna is very pleasant and kind and it is a joy to walk with her.
