Fantastic and interesting day trip

This is a brilliant trip to go on if you are on Kos, especially if as we were you are staying near Kardamena which makes the transfer to the harbour really quick. The boat trip... read more

This is a brilliant trip to go on if you are on Kos, especially if as we were you are staying near Kardamena which makes the transfer to the harbour really quick. The boat trip across to Nissyros took about an hour from Kardamena which is a nice length of time as you can enjoy the beautiful scenery. Once we... More

We opted for this tour through Viator as the Thomson’s tour quoted later times and appeared to have a lot of time just waiting around and ‘filling in’. Whilst I can’t confirm this, our tour started with a pickup at 9am for a 9.30am boat trip across to Nisyros, we were at the volcano by 11am. I don’t travel well... More

We did the island from Kos town and it was a full day with the coach journey to Kardemana and then the ferry to the island. The ferry passes an island that is being excavated at a rate of knots for pumicestone and obsidian ( dragon glass from GoT ). We had a couple of hours in Mandraki which gave... More

Firstly, I wasn't informed there were health conditions to consider before you can visit the volcano. You can't have any mobility problems, you can't be asthmatic or pregnant. If you are not seeing the volcano, you literally don't get any tour guide and you are left to wonder a village by yourself for 5hrs. The ferries only depart the village... More

Visited the island on an organised tour that we bought in the supermarket next to.our hotel. Coach was on time to pick us up. The trip over to the island was a little choppy but still enjoyable. There was so.e confusion when we arrived ad to which coach we went to the volcano on as there were 2 - one... More

After taking the ferry from Kardamena to Nisyros, l took the bus tour to the volcano. The volcano and the surrounding landscaping was very impressive, however you are only given 30mins to explore using the bus tour. You can bring a car here and explore the island/volcano yourself and if l was to come here again l would do this!... More

Absolutely incredible experience, need to be seen to be believed. Take your camera and plenty of water to drink. Wear sensible trainers.

We travelled to Kardamena from Kefalos by taxi then took the boat from there to Nisyros, Unfortunately we made a bad decision as it would have been cheaper to go with an organised coach trip from Kefalos. Nisyros is truly a beautiful island which is unspoilt & typically Greek. It's almost like going back in time. A bit smelly due... More
