As we drove through the pine trrees to climb up Philerimos hill, we couldn't imagine that it wasn't just a sightseeing, but something that would deeply touch us. The Acropolis which used to be here in Ancient times, gave its place to the basilica with baptistery; ruins of them you can see around the cross. On our way to the... More

Nice view from the top and lots of peacocks but really not much else that was good to look at. Might as well have been any hill

We were on our way to the airport and had some time to kill so we drove up the mountain to look at the view. We were told by the owner of the hotel we were staying at you could go up inside the cross but sadly the doors have been welded shut. The view is still beautiful and wild... More

It would be a shame to visit Rhodes island and not see this place. Amazing view, everything is like fairytail.

Nice small church on top of a hill with a view of the island. Peacocks all over the place and quite a few cats.

Fantastic views from the top. Suggest ride up the winding roads, taxi was cheap enough. Beautiful comfortable walk to the cross with brilliant views. Then into the monastery (€6) which was interesting snd again more views across to the beaches. Peacocks were friendly and made for added interest.

Even if you are not religous this is worth a visit just for the ambiance. Abit of walking involved on uneven ground but breathtaking views make it all worthwhile.

A beautiful drive up a 250 meter winding road with pine trees either side got us to Filerimos Monastery. From here a pathway lined with trees leads away from the Monastery and this took us where this small church is. The church is not worth a visit alone, but large cross above the church is of interest and the view... More

Small church, not very interesting but the huge cross and it's view is worth a visit. Severn stations of the cross on the way up to the cross interesting.
