This was a wonderfully interesting trip and a massive plus was that it engaged my son! It's possible to walk down into the crater and have a wonderful round. Also beautiful views.

The sides of the caldera are steep left behind 55-60,000 years ago when the volcano blew it's top. Some of the colours are amazing and must be seen. Be warned the road down to the caldera is twisty and goes beside some steep drops.
