Very interesting and a bit mysterious ancient ruins of Oracle ...I was excited about the cave with the altar. Must notice cheap entrance fee, also offering discount with ISIC card. Place is situated on the very top of a mountain so once you arête re it opens beautiful vista on a landscapes around.

The ruins are interesting. The site is well maintained. The view is beautiful at 360° on all the countryside.

The site itself is pretty neat. The crypt below is large, and the maze like part of the structure itself is pretty neat. The inner structure has very thick walls, over three meters. I think the backstory of the oracle is fun even if it may not be true.

The place is relatively small but very interesting especially going to the underground chamber where the oracle was told over two thousand years ago.

Visited early in day when quiet but it was still hot. Worth a busted, we stayed there an hour. Ideal place to visit if you are going on the Acheron river trip which is a few minutes away

Loves the Oracle of Ephyra - loved the story and the legends behind every room, way more things to see in Preveza, if you have time stop by all of them.

In this region, visiting Nekromanteion is a must. One the most fmous and well preserved oracles from Antiquity. The underground chamber is suggestive. There is a tax and you receive a flyer to guide the tour.

If in Parga and especially if wearher is cloudy, start with Acheron delta, visit Nekromanteion and proceed to Acheron springs. We didn't expect much, but the place is truly interesting and has some vibe which lacks Dodona for example. Layers of history are obvious there, as is the fact that the place used to be a site of worship of... More

Anyone who knows me would tell you i spend a lot of my time lugging my camera and gear around old spooky and historic places on my own. I wish I could have visited this place at dusk after the coachloads of tourists had gone. I was one those tourists though so I can't complain. The 8 Euros fee is... More

This was one of the places I had on my "must visit" list before coming to Parga. The story of the Nekromanteion is fascinating and the underground chamber (a steep but short ladder to climb down) quite atmospheric. However, my "romantic" notions of the place were somewhat dashed a few days before visiting when I learned that more recent archeologists... More
