Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a thematic museum that contains artefacts and archive material on the cultivation and production of tobacco, it's agricultural and commercial processing, industrial tobacco products, and exhibits of sample tobaccos.
The uniqueness of the Museum lies in the fact that not only does it contain an exhibition on the processing of Oriental tobaccos (which are not found in any other museum in the world), but also in the fact that it is a museum that showcases economic and social history as well as the history of technology in Kavala and Eastern Macedonia and Thrace more broadly.
The collection of the Kavala Tobacco Museum is exceptionally rich.

Complete museum is very small - all in one room, but it is interesting to see as it shows complete process of tobacco picking, preparation and shipping procedures and machines from the beginning of last century. Downsides is that they only sell tobacco soap in the museum shop and not actual tobacco and that curators English was not so good although lady gave her best to make our time in museum very pleasant.

We have visited this museum as a group of 40. Museum director gave us very valuable information on the history of tobacco and regional sociology and commerce developed around tobacco planting, processing and commerce. There are too many displays , tools and samples showing all tobacco processing. You should plan to spend at least 1 hour here.

Usually women who don't smoke don't like going to tobacco museums. I was very much surprised to see the process from the beginning when everything was done by hand; until today when machinery does most of the work. A good amount of exhibits explained to you by a professional guide and short video that gives you a holistic picture of Tobacco in general!

Who cares about the history of tobacco, I wondered? Not me. Besides, I don't smoke. But the museum has much more to offer ranging from the tobacco processing to the marketing procedures over the past one hundred years or so. The museum underscores the importance of Kavala and its rich industrial past. What's more, there is a revival since they are working on marketing perfume based on tobacco. Also interesting to visit with children!

Tobacco commerce played a major role in Kavala's well being for several decades. The museum focuses on the tobacco journey from the field till the end-product stage from a business and human point of view. I definitely enjoyed my visit and I am grateful to Eleftheria for the nice tour

This has been one of the rather interesting museums I've visited. Even though I'm a non-smoker, I still enjoyed the scent of tobacco inside.
You get an idea of the city's commercial and cultural past as well as the first labour strike in the Balkans.
Could be a better experience if the museum had English texts as well though, the majority is only in Greek.
