The museum space is very big There are a lot of exhibits at the museum. The time to go over the exhibits is very very long. But There is no rest places for rest during the tour, there is no drinking water points, toilets are only at the entrance to the place. The only place for a cup of coffee... More

Okay we were spoilt and this Museum is not even close to being as grand as the Athens Archaeological Museum. However, it had loads to offer and remained very educational and worth a visit

A rich collection of artifacts from a plethora of historical periods. Very well aranged and labeled exhibits. You can admire pottery, coins, weapons, armor, jewellery, sarcophagi and numerous golden wreaths which are some of the highlights of the museum. Easily accessible, at the centre of the city.

We were unsure about stopping by since we had already done the Archaeological Museum in Athens but glad we stopped in. This museum focused more on the history of Macedonia Greece telling the same story but from a different perspective which made the stop well worth it. There is a surprising amount of info and exhibits and we ended up... More

One of the best archaeological museums in Europe. The building is in the City Center...not far from the sea and it is an amazing architectural masterpiece. Easy to navigate inside and out. The artifacts and information on Alexander the Great were absolutely enthralling. If you have been interested in Alexander the Great and the history of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, and Northern... More

One of the oldest museums in town, the Archeological Museum of Thessaloniki holds some very important exhibits of the city's huge history. Gardens outside are full of more remainings and for those who are tired, the bar outside is superb (try the inner yard!)

A wonderfull museum maybe the most important and interesting in Greece after the museum of acropolis. There are treasures of macedonia's civilisation and gold things of the greek king Fillipos the father of alexander the great. There is also a nice place for good and coffee the "B" restaurant.
