Nice place to walk around. Lots of people and the sweets and coffee are great. Watch your pockets. Some shops but more food.

You can smell the fresh meat being cooked for gyros and the water from the sea as you walk down this area of Thessaloniki. As you are taking it all in though, you will likely be approached by people posing as Reggae concert promoters who are really after your money. Not only will they approach you, they will follow you... More

If it is not Aristotelous square, it is not a Salonica visit. Balloons, bykes and bikes, babies and freddos, chatting and flirting, shopping and laughing, a luminous smile of the heart of Salonica, with view to the sea, shiny happy people, joy and company, and constant transfers from one cinema to another, from the centre to the dock to gather... There are hotels, cinemas, restaurants, bars, cafes, pastry shops and apparel stores. The square has... More

You can't visit Thessaloniki without seeing this square. The city's transport systems, it's roads and most important, it's people all cross here. East to the shops, the museums and the University, West to the shops and the old port, North to the "forum" and sacred St Demitrius' or South to the Sea and the cafes and a view of Olympus..... Aristotelous Square might be considered the heart of Thessaloniki. It's definitely where you'll find all the action. The area is lined with pubs, restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries, most with outdoor dining patios. A few souvenir shops dot the landscape, but the most obvious attraction is the Aegean Sea at the harbor end of the square. We found most establishments... More
