I agree with a previous reviewer the Greeks are blasé about what they have and in abundance. Being so close to the town centre makes for an easy visit, especially when combined with the museum. Good to stroll around and reflect on another wonderfully unkept...More

This site is worth visiting but do not expect too much and it is very overgrown and uncared for. To some extent that gives you more the feeling of someone uncovering ruins :).

I almost think the Greeks don't realise what they have. I loved walking around the ruins. Luckily I had a book on Thassos which gave me more information than was available there. Well worth a visit.

Even though a guidebook to ancient Thasos is available, it is not sold on the island and there are no explanations on site of the buildings in the ancient agora. It is a great shame as this ancient site deserves better.

It was awesome, there are a lot of things to see. Too bad it is not very well cared. There are big bushes, and you cannot see the whole ground because of this.

So much to see, so little help to understand it. Never seen so many sites in such as small area. Though this is perhaps the most important there must be 15 others within a 10 minute walk. We saw one remaining explanatory notice board, which...More

Like every other ancient site around Thasos town, the agora is overgrown - the weeds were as tall as me in places! It looks like the locals take a weed-whacker to the sites in time for the main holiday season, but unfortunately at this time...More

So nice to be able to wonder around a historic sight with no crowds and no signs telling you what it might have been like. In conjunction with the lovely museum next door, this is just a great way to experience the ancient past.

Nice. Close to the center. No entry to pay. Nice walking tour. It takes you half an hour. Suitable for children and also for older people.
