You can imagine that it is 2000 years ago.... it is so remote and so well preserved. The lion's gate is incredible - so well taken care of. Ff you wander around enough there is so much to find...my son's found a cistern and went...More

There is a lot to see here so give yourself some time. The site includes a museum, the famous lion gate, multiple beehive graves, and much more. Be sure to climb to the top if you're able for some spectacular views of Mycenae and the...More

This old ancient site shows how culture was already develloped in their time. Not only the site, but also the neighbourhood are beautiful.

Had great anticipation and Lion's Gate did not disappoint. However, many tour groups and only explanations were on information boards scattered amongst ruins. BRING a Flashlight (I was told by the ticket agent incorrectly that one was not needed). There is a spot where you...More

This site was uncovered in 1874, and is well worth visiting. Entry is made through The Lion Gate and this takes its name from the lions carved above the lintel. Just after entry one comes across one one of the grave circles, this one containing...More

This was another amazing site if you are interested in Greece’s ancient history.. the beehive grave site was really interesting. It definitely looked taller inside than from the outside/. The Lions Gate was a feat to build.

There are better ruins in Greece. If it happens to pass by it’s ok to pay it a visit but not worth to make a wide detour. The place is packed, cant even find parking, there is quite a hike to get to see something...More

This site is a must-see as far as I am concerned. Seeing the lion's gate was epic! It does require a hike to see the entire site, but it was well worth it. It was amazing to see how sophisticated and smart they were back...More

The site is filled with intact lions gate, burial sites and the views are great from the top. the cave for the well is treacherous so bring a light. Museum is very good, I'd do that first then go to the ruins. don't forget the...More

The Archaeological Site at Mycenae is just fine if you don’t expect much. Your 12 euro tab gets you an opportunity to trudge about in the heat. It does demonstrate the historical role of walls, which we need to keep in mind.

I've never encountered a multi-ticket, although companies offer day trips that include several sites. At a glance, the prices for these seem inflated given that individual tickets for sites are so cheap. (Mystras is not in... More

Yes. After you enter the admission gate, there are benches about midway. The WCs are there as well.
