The museum is worth checking out even though some of the originals are not here (the death mask of Agamemnon is in Athens, as well as other items). The price is included in the ticket to the site, so if you have some time to...More

My wife and I were here on a Globus tour. We had just finished with the site and came here, before continuing on to Epidaurus. There's a lot to see in the museum, but to be honest ... after a while, they all start to...More

Climbing the hill and entering the place through the Gate of the Lions affected me deeply. The at the Mycenae archaeological site near Mykines in Argolis is some 20 kilometers from the Mediterranen se and you get a glimpse of it from the hill rising...More

Once again, as in Athens, an archaeological site and its museum. Really worth it. Mycenae is associated with Agamemnon, who survived the war of Troy but not to the hatred of his wife Cliptemenestra.

After a couple of hours visiting Mycenae, the museum made a welcome break and we enjoyed the cool atmosphere as we admired the exhibits. An excellent introduction to the art of the Mycenaean civilisation.

It is a pity, if understandable, that treasures have been sent to Athens and replaced by copies. However this museum is worth a visit and provides clear information about the site.

When visiting Mycenae, visit the museum first to get an overview of the ancient site. You can also see a replica of the amazing gold mask that was believed to be the face of Agamemnon (until carbon-dating proved otherwise). After the museum head up to...More

By the time we reached Mycenae, we had seen so many amazing museums in Italy and Greece I think I was a little jaded. The museum housed some great pieces and amazing archeological finds, but for some reason I didn't find it as interesting as...More
