Just being at the site of the original Olympic games was amazing in and of itself, but how well preserved this area is is amazing also! Definitely a must see on a trip to Greece

When you set foot on the property, amazement is an understandment. Well executed in upkeep, the history of the games brings you right to the center of its beginning. Well worth a visit, admission, and heat. (Bring an umbrella for the hotter months! Scorching!)

Olympia blew me away, I didn't expect it to be in such a tranquil and lush location, the site itself is very easy to walk around and is quite frankly amazing, particularly after being in the attached museum where all the statues etc are displayed,...More

With a little imagination, one can visualize the magnitude and the thought behind the entire structure of the athletic complex, built over 2000 years ago. After seeing a group of people with modern technology trying to reconstitute a Greek column which had fallen from one...More

This is one of the most interesting ancient sites we visited during our tour of Greece. The area seemed renovated with a spacious paved road leading to the Museum and the ruins. The Museum was nicely organized and exhibits great findings of ancient Greek sculptures...More

The whole site was excellently restructured and explained well. The area was flat and walking was easy. The entrance to the track and field stadium was particularly emotive. It was easy to imagine the crowd and noise as the athletes passed beneath the archway and...More

For me, the most startling information about the Olympics was that only one woman was ever allowed to attend the games. She was the high priestess and there is a special chair in which she sat. Believe me, I spend quite a while arranging myself...More

It was a very interesting day trip, we managed to see quite a lot of ancient Olympia, it is just so spectacular, definitely worth the visit, but take lots of water as it could be quite hot in summer.

As mentioned, go when the facility opens. It will give you time to wander in peace and take it the sites. The walking is easy...no hills. Please allow time to visit the museum. Tour groups can be an issue. People are running... More

Hello, the site is amazing, you should allocate a morning visiting the site, there are 3 museums on site, refreshments are available in one of the museum, sensible shoes should be worn.
