    Amazing temple with outstanding views.
Amazing place - the Temple is beautiful with fabulous views of the water. A surprising highlight of our trip to the Athens area. Well worth the trip. About a 20 minute taxi from the Harbour; we asked the driver to wait for us as it didn't seem like there were taxis at the top - round trip including the wait was 50 euros.

A piece of history - a must visit!
We recently got the ferry from Athens to Aegina. Book return ferry tickets in advance if you can as they do sell out and arrive early to get a seat! We had a hire car as the temple is about a 30 min drive from the arrival port. It is not accessible by foot, so you will need a taxi or bus if you don’t have a car. There is plenty of parking right outside the temple and it costs 6 euros to enter. It is very accessible with a small, gentle hill to walk up. It is a beautiful temple and quite incredible to think how old it is. I recommend going early to get the best photos before the crowds descend.

    Definitely worth a visit
We are staying in Aegina Marina and this temple shows on the map as only 2km walk. However we opted for the bus and didn’t regret our decision! Return ticket is only €4 and walk would have been very very steep in hot temperatures! There was hardly anyone there so we could take good photos and see everything. Museum is closed on Monday and Tuesday so we were not able to see it. Entrance is €6 adults and €3 for teens

    Hidden gem
This is a hidden gem. We visited in August and it was scorching hot. We reached at 10 AM and there was no one. It became crowded afterward but nothing like Acropolis. You can take your time to go around the site multiple times and enjoy the breathtaking view. Get a bus (EUR 2/person) to get here. Dont forget to visit the museum (included in the ticket). The museum has no signs, it is just located in a dilapidated building. It is worth visiting.

It is not the first time but the third time in a total of 7 in the last three years that the museum of Afaia is closed due to problems with the alarm system it has. Unacceptable because we are being rude to the people we accompany to visit it. We should not only not pay if there is this problem, because the museum is worth a lot!, but at least the antiquities guards at the entrance should inform us so that we are not disappointed every time.

Breathtaking. A real gem - absolutely unmissable if you are visiting Aigina. The monument itself is spectacular, as is the setting. Check out the visiting hours for the small museum that is also on site, it helps place the architectural remains in context.

Amazingly well-preserved Doric temple. Beautiful grounds, stunning view, no crowds. We went late on a Sunday morning in late March & there were only 10 other people there, tops. We were staying in Aegina Town & hired a taxi driver (really, a private driver) who took us to the temple & also the Nectarios monastery, waited outside for us for 40 minutes at Aphaia, 20 minutes Nectarios, then took us back to Aegina Town for 40 Euros + tip.

Must see spot in Aegina. Transport for Temple is direct from Aegina town and very cheap! The feminine energy is easily felt in this place as Aphaia is goddess of pregnant women and women in labour. Beautiful space! We were there on early morning Monday and there were only few tourists.

This place is so impressive in so many regards: it’s historical and mythological relevance, the state of conservation, the architectural and engineering efforts, and the views from here (you can spot the Parthenon in Athens). It is very windy (thus refreshing) up there. At 6 EUR per person, entrance fees are on the more expensive side.

An imposing monument of the 5th century B.C. that dominates on a green hill with fantastic views of the Saronic bay.!!
One of the most beautiful sights of Aegina that is worth visiting!!
In the surrounding area there is a related museum, while near the entrance there is a tourist stand and cafeteria with beautiful views as well!!!

Wonderful example of Greeces great architectural heritage. Staff/security a little over attentive, we were the only visitors on the day and I was followed around by a female staff member who literally hid in the trees as a took in the wonderful landmark. Apart from that the location perched on to of the aegina hills had views to behold. Would recommend
