The 1.5 hour climb was worth the price of the panoramic view of the sea, nearby islands, and spring flowers in surrounding hills.

Well I set off from the town at about 0900 this morning and took the advertised trail up. Once on the main 'road' from the path it was straightforward and uphill. In fact uphill all the way. Plenty if opportunity to look over your shoulder...More

You need 1 Hour to get there... Have some water with you. If you like to walk then you should go up there. The view is perfect. The church is old and very nice. And don't forget you need around 45 minutes to come back!...More

A great experience, feels like being in a time capsule, the monks, the monastery, the hospitality, the absence of cars, the peace and Leon the iconic dog of the prior!

Quite a strenuous hike with 540m elevation gain. Worth it though for the views. When we went the monastery was closed which was a bit disappointing. Apparently it's not unusual that they close the monastery. We decided to not continue to mount Eros which is...More
