We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The very old monastery of Faneromeni in Salamina is a perfectly restored convent which was built in 1632 by St Lavrentios. There are several nuns who run the place and it boasts the miraculous icon of Panagia Faneromeni .The monastery is located in the northwest part of the island and can be easily reached by local buses which run every 30' from the port of Paloukia. There is a very big pine forest around the convent and the whole atmosphere is serene and peaceful. It really worths a visit!

A beautiful place worthy of a visit for those who love history or religion. There is always someone at hand to give a brief history of the monastery and the role it payed in the Greek revolution against the Turks. Also, a place to find peace of mind or meditate in the quiet and serene surroundings. Not to be missed by anyone visiting the island of Salamis.

August 25/26/27 is the celebration of the monastery, to which people then come from all over Greece. It is very crowded with many streetvendors and music and food and drinks.
The monastery has a very old church, 1682, with an old icon that is very important to Orthodox Christianity. It houses 18 nuns and has a home for elderly women.
