About
This stunning beach on the northeastern end of Skiathos is lined with small unique white pebbles instead of sand. Here, you can enjoy the clear blue waters of the Aegean sea and visit the picturesque stone arch Tripia Petra that marks one end of the beach. The beach is best seen in the morning as it is shrouded in shade in the afternoon. Surrounded by steep cliffs, this remote beach is accessible only by boats from the old harbor. Alternatively, join a private boat tour which will also take you to explore other nearby beaches and sea caves. – Tripadvisor

Lalaria Beach (via Haris Konstantinos Cruises).
I would give Lalaria Beach a trip advisor score of 2/5, the water was a clear turquoise blue and the arch in the rocks was attractive. The beach is very pebbly and uncomfortable to walk on, reef shoes are required, the seafloor was baron due to the rock and pebbles, very few fish when snorkelling.
I would give Haris Konstantinos Cruises a trip advisor score of 1/5. We did the Mamma Mia tour. We did NOT feel that the trip was worth the €50 each that we paid! The girl at the harbour was VERY good at selling the trip! We did stop at all the locations advertised… HOWEVER, the boat was over crowded, there were too many 'deck chairs’ which meant it wasn’t easy to move around, the crew did not attempt to create any atmosphere, there were very few ABBA tracks played (3-4 in the bay by the church), some melon was offered in the afternoon, but no shots of Ouzo as promised!
We compared notes with other people at our hotel and the Elisabet Cruise at €30 sounded much better value for money and much more entertaining!

Yes it's pretty but you can't enjoy it if there are two or three boats dropping off people and therefore making it crowded. There are no amenities, barely any shade and rocks can get dislodged by goats at the top and drop onto the very stony beach.
We were on a Mamma Mia trip and the boat stopped here for one hour in the morning. We couldn't be bothered and just stayed on the boat.
There are more comfortable beaches on Skiathos than this.

The beach is just a dream. The colors of the sea and water magical. You can only get to this beach by boat. And that’s already about the disadvantages of this beach. There are many boat tours where you spend about 1 hour on this beach, these are mostly the tours that go around the whole island. And then there are boats that offer "only Lalaria". That would be great. If you stay not only 3 hours on the beach, but all day. So you are 3 with round trip 3-4 hours on the road, then have about 3 hours stay, and then come back to the city relatively early. Boats should remain on the beach at least until 5pm.

Only accessible by boat this is a delight of nature.
The marble in the rocks, the crystal blue water and the sun.
The stones are made from
Thousands of years of rolling in the rough seas but they have all been taken away by tourists and locals which removes the traditional feature of this beach and area although on the far right of the beach you can still see what the whole beach would have been like have these rocks been left.
It is FORBIDDEN to take these stones now so please leave them for people and visitors to enjoy what should be here.
Worth a visit just for the experience and scenery

The water is stunning, a lovely colour and great for a swim.
However, the stones that are there instead of sand are SO SORE!! really hurt my feet so make sure not to go barefoot. It is also very busy and only one little corner of shade when i went (11am) but if you are in skiathos i really recommend going on a boat trip there because if you are prepared then it should be a really enjoyable experience.

We booked an evening cruise with stay from 19:00-20:00. In the evening the beach is not crowded and there is enough shade. It is a pebble beach, which is why the path barefoot hurts a bit. It is not allowed to take stones from the beach, as you have to return them at the airport (otherwise according to the Internet fine between 400-1000€). Unfortunately, we have not read this anywhere on the beach. Really clear water!

I like Lalaria beach (we had been before on a previous trip to Skiathos). It is mostly a pebble beach so maybe have shoes you can wear into the ocean if you plan to swim. The beach is very beautiful and the water is crystal clear which is it's main appeal. There isn't really spots for shade (but we bought a beach umbrella from the supermarket at stop 3 for 9 euros which we used for our whole holiday and this worked great).
However - avoid the RED BOAT tour. I don't mind the tour they gave us but it was NOT the advertised tour at all. They told us they would show us various caves and then just glossed over the fact that they didn't do this despite being really upsold as part of the tour. We didn't stop at Kastros because the conditions were not good apparently (though there were other similar boats there). I am not that bothered that this was missed as they did tell us (albeit as we literally right there - I had already started putting my trainers on for the walk to the old town as we were seemingly pulling in to go there when they said that we weren't). However, they then sent us to a completely different place for lunch than advertised and again completely glossed over it and didn't once mention that it was a completely different place (obviously I knew it wasn't and when I raised this with them they brushed it off). They then pointed us in the direction of a food place as this was now our lunch stop (the food place was rubbish, especially as we were expecting to stop at a different beach which I have been to before and has a lovely taverna). It was also annoying as its a beach that you can access on a quick walk from Koukounaries, not a beach on the north of the Island (as advertised) that we otherwise wouldn't have been able to go to). It was also advertised as having great commentary as you went round - they called out the names of the beaches we passed (which I could see on google maps anyway) and that was it. Which is fine but definitely not the tour guide commentary we were advertised. So if you want a mystery tour of the island and don't really care when you stop go for it but otherwise maybe give it a miss. Elizabet cruises seemed the best option but unfortunately they weren't running the tour yet as it was not peak season.

Underwhelming. We went to Lalaria beach as part of a boat trip which ended on Tsougrias island. In retrospect we wished we’d caught the sea taxi straight to Tsougrias and spent the day there.
Reasons:
1) several boat trips docking mean it is absolutely packed with tourists.
2) there is zero natural shade and you will bake.
3) the beach is rocky and certain to be inferior to the beach in whichever town you are staying in.
4) the sea is much rougher so not ideal for young kids, unlike the other wonderful beaches around Skiathos.
It’s quite pretty, but no more so than the other stunning beaches and scenery. There is no need to travel for this. Recommend ditching this and going to Tsougrias island or driving to find a quiet secluded beach of which there much be hundreds.

We went to the beach with the afternoon route they organized (the port has many boats) which was 18:00-21:00 at 20€ per person. The route was very nice, the beach fantastic, clear waters and nice landscape. Know that there is no beach bar when you take with you whatever you need. The specific route because it was evening you saw the return and sunset!!

Hi All do you think lalaria beach is suitable for a 2.5 year old boy? Thanks a lot

Hi All, we are planning to go to Lalaria by boat, is it safe/fun with a 2.5 y/o boy? Thanks

Buona fortuna!

Does anyone know if it’s possible to swim from Kastro to Lalaria? It doesn’t look far and we’re used to swimming from Ligaries to Kechria and from Megalos Aselinos to Mikros Aselinos and it looks about the same distance... I know the north of the island can be a bit feisty with the currents and wind but we’re keen to avoid the tourist trap of the boats.
Thanks in advance!
Written 8 September 2019
I wouldn’t swim that distance personally
If you get into trouble out there you are in the middle of no-where.
The beach is very over rated imho and gets spoiled by the amount of tourists and boats (playing disco music) that dump hundreds of people at once. Atmosphere killer.

Grazie a chi risponderà
Written 27 August 2019

Graxie a chi risponderà
Written 9 August 2018
