We spent a good 2hrs at the Museum. It was very informative with great exhibits. Walking through the old homes and listening to and seeing how people of Odense lived in the 1600's was wonderful. Great for all ages.

If you know that Odense is the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen but nothing else, visit this museum for a quick education. Odense is famous for more than its fairytale atmosphere. Allow at least 2 hours, more if you're really interested. After touring the main...More

I love history and this place provided the backstory of this city named after Odin. The artifacts from the oldest skull found to how the communes of the 60's got their start in Odense. The museum is well put together and takes the visitor through...More

There are some archeology and videos to describe the history and the geography of the place, hosted in a very impressive and interesting location.

If you are wandering around Odense's Old Town, this museum is worth a stop, if only to admire the handsome red brick building. The exhibits are a bit sparse, longer on descriptive text than on artifacts. Perhaps we'd been spoiled by Ribe and the Ringkoebing-Skjern...More

Not really a museum lover do keep that in mind with this rating. It was well set out with English descriptions available, was just a bit boring. I would like to see the building of the bridge added as part of funen history.

The museum offers an insight into the City of Odenses history. There are exhibitions that show both the 'immediate history' and the 'far-away history'. The city dates back more than a thousand years, and therefore, the museum has all kinds of interesting displays. There are...More

Møntergården is the local cultural museum in Odense. The museum has exhibits on Funen's history. A major expansion occurred recently and the presentation is now up to date. Definitely worth spending a couple of hours here.

My husband and I enjoy learning about the history of the places we visit. This almost deserted museum was several hours of enjoyment and education. The displays are visually interesting and progress through various themes in a logical and intriguing fashion. Along with the modern...More
