The museum is interesting. After seeing the exibition you walk through the beautiful area of north east Funen to the ancient mound. Burial place for a very important prince or king of viking ahe Denmark. You step inside the mound where you see the ship. The king was buried here along with his horses and lots of other gifts. In... This is a very unique place, where you can see a reconstructed full size Viking longboat with sail, meticulously reproduced based on the remains of the original ship that was buried on the site - which is eerily preserved under the mound, in a cold, dim room where you see its outline. Hard to describe, but rather like seeing a... More

Well worth the 25-minute drive from Odense but poorly signposted and not easy to find. Oddly, the leaflet that is meant to encourage you to go doesn't include a map. However, once you're inside it's captivating, not least the buried ship itself (although that's a potentially muddy walk away from the main museum building. Staffed by wonderfully enthusiastic volunteers delighted... More

There are probably other ways to get around Fyn island but we decided to hire a car for a few days and drive to various 'special' places, including the Viking Museum at Ladby - a relatively short distance from Odense. Although the journey proved to be pleasant, for some reason Ladbyskibet is not well posted. Take a detailed map with... More

My husband and I caught the bus to Kerteminde from Odense on a weekend and were horrified to find that our travel options to the Ladbyskibet were very limited. Luckily the folk at the tourist information are extremely helpful and they gave us the information we needed: We could hire a private taxi (which would be very expensive) or hire... More

Excellent little museum with a lot of interest for all ages. Not the biggest museum but a lot of informative spots.exhibits. Danish history at a glance - make the walk to the nearby Viking ship. Make a stop if you are in the area.

This was an excellent little museum with lots of things to interest both children and adults. The museum itself is small and has several informative exhibits. the actual burial ground exhibit containing the remains of a viking ship is a short walk away. We would highly recommend a stop here if you are in the area.

I love the place, the way they've presented everything, the landscape! only minus is you cannot revisit, coz the bus connection from Odense is very lousy! Especially on Sundays (!!!!!!!!!!)
