At the Steno Museum, both children and adults can go on a voyage of discovery into the fascinating development of science and medicine.

You can learn about ground-breaking discoveries such as X-rays, penicillin, transistors and radio waves. Shiver at the sight of old surgical instruments and try your hand at Morse code with an electromagnetic telegraph. Or you can reflect on antenatal screening and modern body culture and ideals of beauty.

In the museum's planetarium, guides take you on a tour through the stars, planets and black holes, but you can also relax in the fragrant medicinal herb garden and possibly enjoy your packed lunch.

There are activities for children during the school holidays, as well as a 'full moon evening' every month in the planetarium.

It all begins at Foucault's large pendulum in the foyer. Welcome to the Steno Museum!

It's a nice museum , the area of medicine is very nice for children I think , however it is not a detail history of medicine . The science part is very well documented and has activities. You can have a nice lunch with view to the garden on the ground floor.

This is a small, low tech science museum located on the beautiful University of Aarhus Campus. Some of the interactive exhibits were out of order, but there were enough fascinating historical scientific exhibits to keep visitors of all ages interested. There are many exhibits ranging from ancient Egyptian water clocks to cartography to radioactivity to a history of medical advancements.

The Steno, a science museum in University Park, is superb for its size and a pleasure to visit. Perhaps the interactive exhibit that attracts the most attention is the one about pregnancy that includes a womb that small children can climb into. During school vacations there are many special exhibits but at any time of the year the Steno is... More

A really interesting science museum featuring science over the past many hundreds of years. Many things you can test or 'play' with. There is also a garden with medicinal herbs.

The museum is located in beautiful Aarhus University Park, pleasure just to visit the park itself. The exposition takes you to medical, mathematic, astronomic, chemical, physic, geographic, nuclear and universal inventions and discoveries presented in a very friendly manner. I absolutely loved "Pregnancy" exposition that challenge us with questions about evolution, cloning, as well as questions of modern age "... More
