Always interesting, even 20 Years after my last visit, great variety of shops, some of the usual Big names but plenty of individualistic independent traders with unique lines.

Most of us don't visit a city to shop but, if you do, this is a very pleasant area to do it. Pedestrian street at least a mile long with all the stores and shops you'd want. Some more boutique style shops run off the main street too.

very much like Oxford St or Princes St, nothing special. We only walked through here to get from the royal quarter to Vesterbro and the train station, not far from here though is the Krebbsegaarden gallery and restaurant which is number 1 on trip advisor for good reason!

Everything a shopaholic can ask for and more. And all with that Danish twist of cool, retro and just different.

This is the large pedestrian shopping area of Copenhagen. You've got loads of options for clothes, traditional bakeries, the Lego store, waffle shops, and souvenir shops. In short, if you want to shop this is where to go.

Another great shopping precinct europe has to offer with all the big names as you would expect. Also it's the longest pedestrianised shopping area in the world (or so I read somewhere).

Staying in Indre By (Inner City)

Neighbourhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.
