Overview

More
The beautiful 400-year-old castle is situated in central Copenhagen's popular park, The King's Garden. The castle was built by one of the most famous Scandinavian kings, Christian IV. Today, the glory of the past can be experienced through the numerous art treasures of the previous kings and queens. Among the main attractions is the Great Hall with the coronation thrones and three life-size silver lions standing guard. The crown jewels and royal regalia sparkle behind the thick walls of the treasury beneath the castle.

Hmmm we liked it but it is kind of stuffed with maximum of pieces and there are almost to much in such a small place. Still worth seeing and i almost voted a 4 so a strong 3 would be more correct. The botanic garden...More

This castle is like stepping into a fairytale - I don' know excactly how many artefacts are in their collection but some thousands at least. This really gives a good glimpse into how the royals in Europe sucked everything of value out of their countries...More

Hopped off the bus to see this castle. It's situated by the side of a massive park. That's a perfect place to get layed out on the grass and soak up some sun.

Nice enough old palace, not very big compared to many across Europe, or particularly special if you've been into lots of palaces and castles. Well-preserved, and some interesting artefacts and ante-rooms inside.

I had such a relaxing and peaceful time at this place. Walked around the gardens for a long time. Sat on one of the benches and watched people around. The castle is defintely a required visit when in Copenhagen.

Quite frankly I was amazed at the quantity of historical pieces were featured in the castles in Copenhagen. Rosenborg itself is a treasure and so well preserved for its age. The iPhone tour was free, detailed and easy to follow. The highlight is the treasury...More

It's a very grand and impressive castle. There's about 5 floors, all with interesting parts and at the top are the thrones, and the jewels at the bottom. Well worth a visit. You can buy tickets online and skip the queue.
