The beautiful 400-year-old castle is situated in central Copenhagen's popular park, The King's Garden. The castle was built by one of the most famous Scandinavian kings, Christian IV. Today, the glory of the past can be experienced through the numerous art treasures of the previous kings and queens. Among the main attractions is the Great Hall with the coronation thrones and three life-size silver lions standing guard. The crown jewels and royal regalia sparkle behind the thick walls of the treasury beneath the castle.

The castle and surrounding park are definitely worthy of a visit, even in winter. You get great opportunity for great photos with the different statues and landscaped gardens. The castle itself contains a number of paintings, furniture and artifacts from back in the day which were interesting to see. The treasury is in the basement and has an interesting collection... It has everything: a beautiful castle, an excellent museum in the castle and a wonderful park around. The Central Park of Copenhagen. In summer you can spend a sunny day there starting in the morning up until the sun goes down.

Worth a short visit, but in the end, the interiors of most castles (this is not actually a castle) are similar. Magnificent room occupying the whole of the top floor.

One of the famous slots in Copenhagen! A must see visit and a great chance to see the Crown Jewels. Buy a combination ticket with Amenlionborg palace to get a better price. Limited opening hours in winter.

Lovely castle, very interesting inside with ornate décor. Could have done with a bit more info on the castle as I walked around, but still enjoyed exploring the castle. Would recommend.

Situated in a park the walk approaching the castle is fantastic, you then cross a moat to get to the centre. The ticket office is situated in a side building so you have to go past the entrance to the castle (guarded by royal guards) to get the ticket, and they will ask you to leave your bag in a... More

Rosenborg is among the smallest of the Danish castles, but beautiful, and surrounded by one of the most popular parks in Copenhagen. Close to all the other sights around the new harbor (Nyhavn) it is easily accessible, and it's size makes it possible to see in just a couple of hours. A handy and free app serves as your guide... A beautifull castle, in the middle of Copenhagen, containing the royal jewels and protected by the royal guard. It is well worth a visit as well as its garden that is used by a lot of the inhabitants in Copenhagen.
