All reviews danish art art lovers new wing love art statens museum for kunst free lockers great art interesting collection beautiful paintings museum is free works of art nice museum special exhibition few hours on display take your time rainy day
Whilst some of the exhibitions were typically a bit pretentious this gallery is a great place just to be in for a few hours. The newer part of the building is a stunning space. The cafe was a cool, chic but relaxed place too.
Wasn't sure what to expect when visiting the national gallery, as I thought it would be a stuffy gallery full of old portraits. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the different exhibitions, some though provoking works in there and a very beautiful building. Loved the...More
The museum collection contains the paintings of Danish and other European artists. I was not too much impressed seeing this collection. I found small number of works that were interesting for me. I saw also exhibition of modern art that was not interesting for me...More
The museum proudly shows off work by Danish artists, but also has showcases works of art from other European countries, Nordic art and International contemporary art. If you are particularly keen on the Danish 'Golden Age' you will really love this museum and what it...More
Compared with the Norway National Art Museum, this one is very disappointing. It has a few quality Nordic works, some Fauvists, one Picasso, a few Braques.
For the admission of about US$ 18, it didn’t seem to me worth the price or the effort.
My partner and I are museum lovers for sure. This is one of the most meaningful collections I've seen. The exhibitions made quite an impression on us. The SMK is well organized and distinguishes itself from other museums in many ways. We bought out tickets...More
If I have to pick a museum out of the few highly recommended ones in Copenhagen, this would be it! I wish I had allocated more time to see the exhibits.
The place definitely has a lot to offer compares to the other museums I...More
Well worth a visit with an extensive collection. The Danish Art was the highlight but the European Collection also contains many interesting pieces some by well known artists.
The cafeteria looked expensive and hot so we went elsewhere.
The admission price includes the special exhibits which is always nice. This is a large gallery and spans a wide range of years so there's something for everyone. Some great paintings by Danish artists.
Home to the largest number of embassies in Copenhagen, Inner Oesterbro has Østerbrogade and Nordre Frihavnsgade streets where shopping for clothes and modern Danish design is a must, particularly if you're not on at budget. There exists a great array of cafés and restaurants, from the reasonably priced to pricier Michelin ones. Fælledparken, one of the largest recreational areas in Denmark, is a park home to the
Copenhagen Carnival as well as one of the world’s largest relay runs, with thousands of teams competing over several days.
