I always try to get above the city I'm in when I travel. It helps you get a lay of the land and gives you a new perspective. This slightly claustrophobic climb near the top is a must in my book. The brave can scale all the way to the pinnacle, but hold on to your hats and cellphones when... More

It's a pity but the church was under construction the day we arrived, so we didn't climb those stairs but looking from the outside it seemed to be a really great attraction.

About 400 steps to the balcony. Could take a long time if busy as only wide enough for one person. The final climb on the outside of the tower is easy but a lot of people appeared to be unhappy with the height. Worth the final climb to say you did it but the view no better than the balcony.

We headed up around lunchtime on Sunday. Sadly didn't make it all the way to the top as my fear of heights got the better of me and the queue was a little unbearable but fantastic views and reasonable entry cost.

This tower is beautiful. Many steps up, but all worth it. the view is breathtaken, but do not go up on a windy day... It is really scary

A bit out of the way but a must visit. Get there early as it gets crowded and there is only one staircase up and down. The last part of the climb is outside round the spiral and the views are breathtaking. It's a hard climb so not for everyone but the reward at the end is spectacular !

Ashamed to say I haven't climbed it and I still wished I had. My friends loved the scary experience, as the climb is from the outer side of the church. When it is windy, it is more scary, but it worth the view.

Quite a few steps to climb to get to the top but i enjoyed the quirky 'stations' inside of the tower on every level. The building is beautiful we were lucky to hear the bells from inside - sounded wonderful. The view over the whole city is worth the workout! The church has a spectacular great organ in it from... You have to be fit to get the best from this location as there are several hundred steps up a spiral staircase, that gets very narrow, very steep, and very low ceilings. But once you get to the top, the view is just breathtaking

Great climb to the top - decent workout for vacation :) Quite windy at the top, and slightly crowded with people climbing up and down with little communication. Definitely worth the visit - great views!

Staying in Christianshavn

Neighbourhood Profile
Christianshavn
Just across one of the many bridges from Indre By, you’ll find Christianshavn. An eclectic area with old brick lanes, houses dating back to the 16th century, and canals which are home to many boats and ships, some of which has been turned into restaurants or even serve as fully furnished homes. The best known attraction in Chistianshavn is Christiania, a “free town” of residents who squat on a former military area. However just a stone’s throw away from Christiania, you’ll find some of the most fashionable waterfront apartment buildings in Copenhagen as well as the splendid Royal Opera House.
