Climb up through the narrow stairs bell tower of this pretty church to the unique feature - the external spiral stair to the very top of the spire. Fantastic views all round, if a bit vertiginous.

That is the sanctuary we found on our way to Christiania. Between the canals, something to the south off the Hippie Town, is located one of Denmark's most famous churches. What is characteristic for this religious edifice, is for sure, its serpentine spire and 400...More

Another icon of Christianshavn! This church is impressive and it's architecture is unique. You can stop by on your way out or to Christiania

So I decided to get up very very early and be the first person in the queue. This meant I could quickly (as possible) climb up the stairs and see the view without any other people around. This is worth the getting up early to...More

The thing that truly makes this Church different from any other we have visited in the world is the circular staircase which is outside the spire. There are over 400 steps you can take to the top and once there the views of the city...More

It's a very unusual building and a definite must-see of Copenhagen, both outside and in. The only disappointment was the weather - we couldn't climb upstairs for the views as it was a way to windy for that.

The church itself was closed for a funeral the day of our visit, but our reason for going was to ascend the steps to the top of the spire. We knew we were in for a one-of-a-kind experience, but had no idea the outside steps...More

It's a steep hike up about 10 floors ,and down. I advise sneakers and appropriate clothing as it's old and not meant for heels or skirts. Good view of city on top.

Admittedly it's years since I've been to the top of the spire but the views were fanominal, I've since read that it's Copenhageners favourite views of the city which says something and it's not expensive to go up. This time however we were dissapointed having...More

Just across one of the many bridges from Indre By,
you’ll find Christianshavn. An eclectic area with old
brick lanes, houses dating back to the 16th century,
and canals which are home to many boats and ships,
some of which has been turned into restaurants or even
serve as fully furnished homes. The best known
attraction in Chistianshavn is Christiania, a “free
town” of residents who squat on a former military
