Beautiful interior garden. Felt the historical importance in this place. Tour guide was engaging and excellent. This is a must see destination in Copenhagen.

With a daughter who has just completed a Masters in Philosophy, we had been urged to seek out Kierkegaard wherever we could, whilst in Copenhagen. This statue is in the garden of the Royal Library, and as statues go, it's pretty good. I had read that Mr K was a bit weird looking in real life, but he looks pretty normal here. We also tracked down his gravestone (easy to find) and the site of his house (not so easy).
Lovely quiet place to sit and relax. I'm not going to add a photo - there's only so many you can take of a statue!

Kierkegaard lived from 1813 to 1855 and appears to be most remembered for his contributions to philosophy. Kierkegaard was however also a poet, theologian and religious author.

This 1918 bronze statue is located in a beautiful and peaceful spot in the Royal Library Gardens. Kierkegaard is shown sitting in a chair with what appears to be manuscripts in his hand.

Again, on the same island with Christiansborg Palace and Danish Jewish Museum is located this bronze statue of great danish and world thinker, that is, Soren Kierkegaard.
Actually, the monument is situated in the front of the Royal Library and within the very nice and peaceful park, called the Library Garden.
We liked it a lot, and its great position, near the Library and Danish Jewish Museum.
Very nice work of danish sculptor, that presents Soren Kierkegaard sitting on a chair, with some manuscript in the hands. The statue is placed on the granite postament.

A hidden oases in the middle of Copenhagen, that is what you can call the beautiful little park or garden.
There's a Jewish museum and a very nice fountain.

The bronze statue of Søren Kierkegaard (by sculptor Louis Hasselriis) is located in the middle of the Royal Library Gardens. Kierkegaard seems absorbed in his own thoughts and gazing directly towards a point on the other side of the wall where his fiancée, Regine Olsen, is said to have lived.
