Address
Neighbourhood: Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Stunning park
Nov 2021
This 6.5-hectare park was built along the line of the old fortifications that protected Copenhagen up until the 1850s.

The new park was inaugurated on 27 October 1879. It was a promenade park and also included Copenhagen's first public playground.

The park is named after the Danish physicist who discovered electromagnetism: Hans Christian Oersted.

There is a lake in the middle of the park. The vegetation was still quite lush in November. You can also find many statues and monuments scattered around the park.

Green stuff, air and water

Absolutely fine park in a convenient location. Well kept and pleasant, particularly near the water. Also features a few nice monuments, but overall - well, it's a park.

Amazing park with a nice playground
Aug 2019 • Family
We liked almost all the parks in Copenhagen, but this one has to be our favourite. It is not too big but very cosy. The kids especially liked the playground, it wasn't not very easy to find, but worth the trouble!

Park walk
Jul 2019 • Friends
A small park inside the city which gives you the opportunity to relax and take a walk in. There is no entrance needed, it is always open and you can go and enjoy the place and the small lake in the center.

Quite lovely

A nice place to relax and stroll through just outside the old city centre. True that there is not much in the way of flower beds but still pleasant enough.

Beautiful park with unreal foliage

I’ve never seen yellow and orange flowers bloom right by a lake like this. Looks like it was staged. Ducks in the pond and greenery everywhere. Beautiful place so sit on a bench by the water or walk/jog around for excercise.

Quiet greenery with friendly ducks, in the middle of the city
Aug 2018 • Family
We liked this park , on the way from our apartment to Tivoli , for its quiet and relaxing greenery with a large lake and friendly ducks . There are numerous paths skirting the lake , over a bridge, or along the higher ground along the edges of the park . The ducks seemed unworried by people and we could feed some by hand . There are a few statues dotted around the park , and a number of benches where you can just soak up the scenery and chill out. At the northern end there is a small observation platform that juts out into the lake, and behind it are steps leading up to Israelsplads , the open-air Flea Market , and the Torvehallerne indoor food market which is also worth a visit .

Romantic park in the heart of the city
Jul 2018 • Friends
I've grown up in Copenhagen and used to always go to the Kings garden (Kongens have)
whenever I was in the town center and needed a little nature.
But now I am totally in love with Ørstedparken, and even when I'm in a hurry, I still try to at least walk through the park on a sunny day.
Bring your to-go coffee or a picnic, a good book or a friend.
or just go to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Summer Spot in Copenhagen
Jun 2018
This year was the hottest summer ever in Copenhagen. People are always out. It was a bit challenging to find a spot to enjoy the warm weather. Then I came across Oerstedparken. I went there to watch a Danish Adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. After the show, I decided to walk around and noticed a lot of interesting sculptures. There are also some areas where you can just sit, facing the water (there is a man-made lake in the middle of the park), drink a cold soda and watch the sky's sunset show. I think I found my summer spot in Copenhagen.

Nice quiet park
Aug 2018 • Solo
I strolled (or ran) through this park on several occasions while in Copenhagen. It's a quiet place with sandy/gravel walkways, a nice pond with a bridge across it, and several interesting statues. If you're looking for a chance to escape the bustle of the city for a few minutes, this is a good spot.
